Team's gonna miss him, he was great in the locker room by all accounts.

Indeed. I was impressed that he didn't sulk or complain even when he got moved to the bench. He came here to be a center piece, but in the end the team went a different direction and he was moved to a much minimized role. But he still came to play every day. A true professional.

I thought Big Al gave Hornets a presence at the post and gave the team a different way of scoring, specially when the outside shots were falling. He handled Whiteside pretty well, on the offensive side.

Big Al was still the best center on this roster imo

Al signing elsewhere instantly makes me like him more. Did big stuff for us that first year and really showed us we could be a basketball team again. Don't forget he was 3rd team all NBA.

Glad he's moving on from a bball perspective. A 34 year old Albus guarding PnRs will be a sight.

He was constantly injured and busted for weed. He had no room to sulk or complain.

Centers need to be able to play defense, mediocre scoring efficiency is easy to come by.

So...there are non-Hornets fans on the GB that seem to think Big Al's defensive shortcomings have been exaggerated. I'll just leave it at that.

Yea, people were considering it one of the best contracts. Feels like an instance of watching his numbers or success on the playoffs without seeing how much he negatively impacted defense.

Can't wait for Al's defense to wear on them and Bird calls Cho.

"Sure, we'll take him back for a couple firsts."

We sound just like the Jazz fans did when we first signed Al. They tried to warn us.

Can't blame the non-Hornets fans tho. They didn't have the luxury to watch how Al played on the defensive end

I love this. Great gesture from our franchise, IMO.
