No Radicevic, but it looks like all four rookies will be there (I thought Beasley was still injured?). Nice to see Mudiay, Harris, and even Toupane and Sampson there too. Also, I'm pretty sure that's Will Barton's little brother up there.

Several sources are saying "the Nuggets are hopeful Radicevic will be available for the summer league".

people keep talking about him but is he any good?

Somewhere up above, I posted a link to the RealGM International forum where there were two brief comments indicating he didn't play much. I watch as much international ball as is available to me and I only saw him once. Stats say he played 16 games at 25 mpg. Some analysts called him "the most NBA ready European player available in this draft". I don't know about that.

What I do know is that he seems to be a great shooter and seems to move well and can shoot as a spot-up or off the dribble. He can create his own with a wickedly fast first step (which I saw and was amazed at). He's not afraid to finish at the basket. He's very good in transition with the ball - either scoring or passing. He'll finish at the basket or spot-up for a 3pter.

He needs to put on weight to play low-post defense but he's a face-to-the-basket stretch-4 that could play 3. I'd also say that he has a tendency to be a little predictable in being right-hand dominant but even some of the NBA all-stars have that minor weakness. I think this is a guy that can score in the NBA. I would not think he'd start, at least not early in the season, especially under Malone. If the Nuggets keep him on this year's roster, I'd expect (wild guessing here) him to get around 10 mpg early and finish with 18-20 mpg after the all-star break. As an added plus, his family plays basketball - mom, dad, siblings, maybe others.

In a top league in Europe: 25 mpg - 11.3 ppg - 6.6 rpg - his PER was 20.6 - 57 FG% but only 35% 3pt (I think this number goes up in the NBA at least at first because teams will be backing off from the rookie to protect against Mudiay/Murray/Gallinari/Barton driving. Almost forgot 78% FT (I hate poor FT shooting, so this is a plus) and at 8 FTs per 25 mpg, that's a HUGE plus.

One final thought, at least one scout said, "He sometimes tries too hard."

As you might guess, being pretty much house-bound, I have lots of time and I've gone back and looked at this guy more than Murray or Beasley just because I didn't know much about him. I'm liking what I see. But the Nuggets still need some nastiness. Here's hoping Jokic's "fight" recently means Nurkic is rubbing off on him.

I hope you are not taling about this one:

That was his older brother that was drafted last year.... Its true his defense is pretty bad, but as any other young player in europe, I can only remember a couple with a decent defense probably rubio and sabonis when they arrived to NBA. Regarding the amount of minutes, in ACB i think that the player that played more minutes was Llull playing and average of 27... So playing 25 minutes is pretty good. He is a great prospect in Europe, i think his game can be better suited to nba, because he can run and shoot, but he will have to work on one on one defense. But you dont expect from a rookie to be great on defense.

My bad - that's the one I saw and didn't pay attention to the first name - the last name was unusual enough for me. :o

The player I was watching was Juan Alberto HernangĂłmez Geuer - Sure hope I got the right guy now. :banghead:

Thanks for that. I do watch international ball but I am far from an expert and only started watching in the last couple of years and only get about 20 games a year.

Agree with what you are saying - I think he's a great NBA offense now - Stretch-4 and SF - Malone is supposed to be a defensive coach, so I'll trust him to teach the defense --- one area that American & European players have in common is defense is lacking far more than offense!

Beasley is practicing with the team but not playing , unsure why he is including on the SL roster ... unless it's a requirement for them to be listed to participate in SL training

What do you all think our summer league starting lineup and bench rotation should consist of? I'm thinking something like this:

PG: Mudiay
SG: Harris
SF: Sampson
PF: Juancho
C: Cornelie
6: Murray
7: Ferdette
8: Toupane
9: Scott

Thoughts/Opinions?

I'm interested in seeing how much time Murray spends at SG and how much he spends at PG.
Watching Cornelie & Hernangomez will also be high on my list.

Really wanted to see Beasley play, all I've seen are highlight reels (which i like alot) but I'd rather him be 100% before TC. He looks like he's he'll be a 2-way player with a HUGE future here.

As for SL, interested seeing Mudiay and Murray play together and I want to take a look at Josh Scott playing at a higher level of competition.

Beasley was a shock draft pick for me - obviously not a "need pick" but a "BPA pick". He is indeed a two-way player and rather athletic with decent handles on the break even.

Your mention of Josh Scott makes me think about the current roster. Sure the Nuggets could easily keep Sampson or Toupane but it doesn't look like they are going to get many minutes. Josh Scott might make a better "end of the bench" type player and he'd probably be thrilled just to make the team. I think he'd get some garbage minutes and who knows from there.
