I suspect Evans may well prosper in Portland.

Only a little of an overpay?

IDK... probably a bit more. but 18 mil in 2016 is equivalent of 12 mil in 2015... I'd say he was worth about 10 mil in 2015 terms... so i guess it's debatable. Not that I like the move... I don't... but I'm not sure it's all that insane. I think it was about 2-3 million a year overpay though.

ET should give his agent something very nice for this. He just got paid more than 2x what his former teammate/a better player in Jae Crowder did.

Blazers were on a good direction with their achievements and roster status...

This signing derails that big time... I like Turner but not on semi all-star salary.

What is a semi-allstar salary look like now?... Blazers signed Turner for essentially 12 mil in 2015. Conley is a semi-allstar and just got 31 mil. I'd say in 2015 semi all-stars were going to go for around 16-18 mil... Turner essentially went for 12.... I don't like the signing, I do believe it was an overpay, but some are acting as if 17 mil is going to hamstring a team with a cap that's going to be 106-108 mil. The hamstring will be McCollum massive deal next year, if he doesn't keep improving that is.

Portland utilize their cap space by signing Evan Turner. Not good.

But just because you have cap space does not mean a player will come to your team, so they are in a difficult situation.

Turner should be thanking Brad Stevens.

They still have about 8.5-9 million, and with the renouncing of either Leonard or Harkless they have enough to offer someone like Biyombo a deal.

True, he is getting the equivalent of 12 mil in 2015. The problem is that it's top 50-60 player money while he's more like a top 100 player (the equivalent of 7 mil in 2015). And that's being more generous than the advanced stats FYI (not just one stat, many different stats), which point to him being in the 120-140 range.

Well synergy stats point to hims being extremely good in P&R defense, and off-ball defense. And his assist percentage is top 5 in the league for his position.

He's a good defender (which is why i gave him a boost from where the advanced stats put him) but a net negative on offense despite his passing abilities. Overall he's around the same level as guys like Jared Dudley and Courtney Lee. Good backup but below average starter.

Saw CJ McCollum at the airport today, was thinking about asking him how excited he was for next year with how much people are getting paid insanely this year, but seeing as his flight was apparently cxld and he was trying to get to NY to make his flt to Dominican Republic for vacation, I figured then wasn't the time to discuss how next year he is going to be getting like 25 million a year... or maybe it was a good time to remind him idk lol.

Deal is a massive overpay but Portland isn't a free agent destination.
