i don't quite understand the flexibility in third year stuff..... isn't the Cap going to be back to normal after next year.... so his third year would not be a good time to hit the free agency....
if i were lin, i would take a 50 millions//4 years deal than the current one...

Cap likely to jump again next season so a 1+1 actually makes some sense for these guys.

Will check in every once in awhile. Hornets are an easy team to root for. Hope MKG reaches his full potential.

I'll be around too. Loved last year's group. With Lin gone, I can't watch every game like I did last year but I will definitely still follow the team and pop in every now and then. Super psyched about the Batum/MKG/Kemba combo. Rooting for the guys in purple to take a playoff series this year.

Some say it will swing back to around $92 and some think it will stay at $100+ so it could go either way. Personally the plan I would have used should I believe in myself would have been 1+1.

Without holding his Bird rights, the Hornets were never going to be able to re-sign Lin. The Hornets received a ton of production from Lin and the hope is that he serves as a prototype for how to use a rotation point guard moving forward and that they find their next version of him either through another mid-career veteran or a developmental player.

Well, obviously we can't watch every single Hornets game...... but will definitely be rooting for the Hornets, except for the four times in the regular season and the playoffs series where we'll be rooting against you guys and come trash talking! :starwars Looking forward to that! 8-)

Terrific article, should post in the Nets forum.

TheSmoket wrote:As fan boards go, The Hornets fans were definitely the classiest. Saints compared to the laker boards, and gods compared to the rockets boards. Good luck !

~lol~ I second that. Wanted to add tho, the RealGM Rockets were cool and Lakerground was fine.

fatlever wrote:So is Jack now the newest hated man in Lin nation?

Na, we'll forget him immediately for sure. Actually the only man ever really hated was McFail. Horrible coach. Benched Lin in his first game in Asia. Puppet. Joe Smith. Spoiled Harden.

bws94 wrote:The best part is I hope he's home for 3 years and no more team movement for some time.

Yes, sure hope so. Hope he could play well and staaaaaaayyyyyy!

Crazy thing is, I'm in NY and Comcast still doesn't have a deal with the Nets while League Pass blocks the games out. I have no idea how I'm going to watch the games.

Watch it live!

He's betting on himself to have gotten a lot better!

Looks like ESPN hating on Lin again:

"Jeremy Lin to make Steph Curry money in Brooklyn"

Also, Antonio Davis' reaction to the deal: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXr3Ttspd5E

Remember that Antonio Davis was the talentless bench player that only made an allstar game because the backup center got injured, and he used Vince Carter's free agency as leverage against the Raptors who overpaid him.

Prime example of why ESPN and their over-the-top personalities are falling well behind alternative outlets like the Vertical. People want content, not some blowhard with a hot take.

Antonio Davis was a key player (if memory serves, a super sub impact bench guy, ironically) on some great Indiana teams during my childhood. My context was limited, but it doesn't feel like "talentless" is at all on the mark.

Good riddance to posts of this caliber on this board.

He and Dale were big parts of some quality teams in Indy. Definately not talentless.

Agree. Tough players, both Davis's on that Indy team.

At this point, that's just the BENEFIT of being Jeremy Lin, and Lin is used to it.
Most NBA stats aren't credible. At most times the people who interprets those data are biased, or the data themselves are flawed. Basketball is just too complicated with so many uncontrollable variables.

Nope, talentless. He had athleticism, and well built body, and work ethic.

His FG% was atrocious for a big man, even considering most of his FGs were 2-handed dunks. Lots of fumbling from passes that resulted in turnover stats for the PGs. There is a reason his nickname on the Raptors was "Bricktonio" and "Stonehandio".

To be fair, all NBA players have *some* measure of talent. But Antonio's talent is a tiny fraction of Jeremy Lin's.

Walter Cronkite, your post is of an even lower caliber because you are referencing your experience as a kid. Check AD's stats as a Raptor, his highlight reels on youtube (most of his plays were 2 handed dunks).

Antonio Davis was a big part of the Indiana team that bushed the Bulls to 7 games, 2nd best team in the NBA that year.

Davis was good.
