Sorry if this has been mentioned before

i would like to see the Wizards compete next year without ruining their cap space in the future. I would offer a one year max deal to David West.

Doesn't hurt to ask again. Maybe he takes it this year.

I haven't been on the Board or looking at deals as they happen, so I'm getting my first look. It's insane but it's certainly no surprise.

Keep in mind my prediction that Ernie will refer to Beal and say "we got our max player."

So far the guys I want haven't yet signed -- Aldrich and Quincy Acy and Seth Curry (who, it turns out, is restricted :( ). But we won't be looking at any of them.

I wonder if it's starting to become clear yet just how bad our situation is. There's no chance we make the playoffs next year. All 9 teams who were better than us are likely to be even more better. Last year 5 teams in the East were worse than the Wizards. It'd be no surprise if we drop below one or two of them.

Next step will be us overpaying a tier 2-3 guy, or maybe feeling we just have to come away with Ryan Anderson at no matter what cost.

I think that's a bit much for an over-the-hill David West, but I do like the general idea. We should try and sign a guy to a 1-year or 2-year contract, even if we have to overpay. It's better than being stuck with a long term deal.

Pay it Forward- your right about two things. It looks bleak for next year and your FA ideas make too much sense. Acy advanced stats look great and he plays hard on every play. How are people missing on him?

Nate33 - I probably went overboard with the West numbers but when Solomon Hill gets 52 Mil, you lose all common sense, lol. Can you think of any names out there that could qualify for a one year overpay?

Count me in on PIF's suggestions for Acy and Aldrich. Sign for long term deals that are cheap on a yearly basis.

I'd love to see Aldrich in a Zards uni. Played extremely well as a backup for D. Jordan last season, and even better when he was called on to start.

I remember being at the Clippers-Zards game at Verizon where Aldrich played like an all-star. I'm figuring that the Clippers are either going to go all-out to resign him or he's headed someplace where he can start. But I'm all for going after Cole....and I hope the Zards FO and EG are on that same page.

BTW, I also like the Ed Davis idea. I thought Davis was going to have a better NBA career than he has had. Sometimes it seems like he's only half-interested in being an NBA player. He certainly qualifies as a rim protector and rebounder.

Dwight to Atlanta: 3 years, 70 million. Excellent deal considering what everyone else got. I hope Horford goes to OKC, and we can trade for Kanter. Please No Ryan Anderson.

Were dodging a lot of bullets here. Howard, Green, Arthur, Batum, Noah, Turner, Solomon Hill...

Hoping Ryan Anderson gets an offer he can't refuse from Houston or Toronto. Same with H. Barnes.

How do you tank with John Wall? Even if we get replacement types with the $30 mil were still likely winning 35-40 games.

Ernie only has Harkless and Ryno left to avoid not overpaying

How about Deng or Marvin Williams? Either one on a 1-year or a 2-year deal might make sense.

Those could be a good targets. One smart move might be to pay a lot this year and get a 2nd year with no guaranteed money. With a stronger FA class next year the ability to clear cap space could be a good asset to have. At this point I would put around $20 million toward such a deal and try to get 2 or 3 bargain deals with the remaining $11 million. Then the room exception could add a cheap vet.

We should have gotten in on Horford. He would have been a better buy than Ryan Anderson.

If Boston signs him, I wouldn't mind going after Sully.

Apparently:

Is kind of relieving to be honest...

Also apparently interested in Ian Mahimi... as a backup 5 he is decent... wouldn't break the bank for em. Still need another 4. Plz Nicholson, m. williams or t. jones. M. Williams can give minutes at 3 and 4.
