Damian Lillard has average $4m in his career so far.

Drafting Seniors may be ALOT better value than middle tier FAs.

That's not a very good comparison though. You should compare what Lillard HAS made to what Bazemore HAS made. I'm betting Lillard will make far more than Bazemore on his next contract. Lillard, Curry and McCollum are a tiny fraction of seniors who were very productive within a year or two in the NBA also. Bazemore was a 4 year senior too btw.

Something like that would be ideal, we meet the cap floor for the first to 2 years and then have a super cheap contract to use as a trade chip when we're ready to move Bender or Chriss into the starting PF spot in 2018.

You can front load a contract but it can only decrease in the same set percentages that they can also increase. So, no you can't do that.

It's always 4.5% either way unless it is your own FA, then it's 7.5% each year.

Yeah the 2011 CBA has a loophole that permits backloaded poison pill contracts only, so teams can force anyone who matches an offer sheet on an RFA to take a big cap hit. If they permitted front loading it would be too easy to get out of the lux tax threshold

This guy just made $50m

I'm sure the NBA is hard and everything, but I wouldn't put it past a poster to be able to put up those stats.

They are probably just assuming we have his cap hold. At least until he signs somewhere else and we don't. I think the general rule of thumb is you keep all cap holds and trade exceptions until you need to renounce them to sign someone.

The main reason I mentioned it is because Price's cap hold wasn't mentioned, and I don't know if that news was before or after Telly had signed...if they just mentioned Leuer seems kind of odd.

If the Cap keeps going up 30% every 4 years then even bad long term contracts will look good by the end.

EG. Tristan Thompson got the Max $17m which will be cheap in 2018. Timothy Mozgov got $16m which may be cheap in 2020.

I'd rather max Barnes...

Hayward is not special that would be worse then the Conley contract. He's not a difference maker

So you'd pay Hayward 190mil over 80 on Barnes? Hayward doesn't carry a team into the playoffs. 190mil is devastating

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

By whom? The TV deal is the Tv deal, then there's the lockout in 2017. Who thinks it's going to spike to 130? I've not seen that.

Would anyone be surprised if Chandler and Tucker were dealt?

They have been extremely quiet and hardly mentioned by FO and the complete opposite of the direction we've taken.

UGH. Love JMZ, but why? Doesn't make sense with Tucker here it's the exact same role.

I assume it's so we can have a guy who can play 4, while at the same time isn't restricted to playing the 4 and taking minutes away from Bender/Chriss.

Return to Phoenix Suns
