Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread (Post Draft)
Chandler seems to be the single most mismatched player on any team right now.
Oldest starter out of 50 players in the bottom 10 teams.
Probably in the best 15 players out of those 50 players.
You see players like Gasol, Wade, Nowitzki, Deng in complete control of their salary and team.

I assume it's so we can have a guy who can play 4, while at the same time isn't restricted to playing the 4 and taking minutes away from Bender/Chriss.
Yeah, that's basically PJ Tucker. It doesn't matter, I don't think Tucker will be here for long.

Interesting at Feb trade deadline, there were articles about Bucks offering to trade for Teletovic.

EG. Tristan Thompson got the Max $17m which will be cheap in 2018. Timothy Mozgov got $16m which may be cheap in 2020.
The original projection was that it would have two big jumps and then level off or maybe even go down a bit. Who knows if that's reality, but their first projection held true.

PJ can't stretch the floor as well though, and while he's a big guy, he's still 2 inches shorter than Dudley.

Dudley signed! via his twitter
Is he really going to play starting PF?
If we're signing 30 year olds, then Tucker and Chandler may stay for short-term leadership / gap filling as well.

I'd rather max Barnes...
Hayward is not special that would be worse then the Conley contract. He's not a difference maker

So you'd pay Hayward 190mil over 80 on Barnes? Hayward doesn't carry a team into the playoffs. 190mil is devastating
It depends on whether or not you like a player or think he is good. If we signed Barnes and he sucked, I don't want to come here in a couple of years when Hayward is balling and see "well, Barnes contract isn't THAT bad when you look at Hayward's".
It's like spending twice as much money on a computer that works very well, over one that gives you problems all the time.

Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread (Post Draft)
This makes Tucker very expendable. Barring a really good season, I could see us deal him by the deadline (maybe even before the season).
Then still go after a PF like Amar'e or Lee.
If not, then hopefully that's it for out offseason.

Remember in pre-season 1 we thought paying Hayward the max of like 16m was too much / next year 38m?

Re: The 2016 Offseason Thread (Post Draft)
We can get a late 1st (maybe even a better one) for this beautiful contract with Tucker.
Contenders will line up with us to get him.

spreadsheet converting new crazy contracts to how they'd look under the old cap
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1VczqQD_nXl97HfJzqCpXmJgy7JCA_tafQApoTOFWsWE/edit#gid=0
Duds is starting at 5.9 mill, which isn't too bad...maybe about 1-2 mill more than I would have thought

Dudley getting the same contract as Teletovic on the Bucks, interesting.

Not bad. Only negative for me is the Suns don't have a legit PF to mentor Chriss. Not that Mirza would have been much better in that regard though.

Tucker is a VERY nice trade piece now. Running through an offseason mock, I realized the most scarce position by far is a wing that can play defense. That's probably partially why I am higher now than I was on Bazemore a week ago. Dudley actually rates higher on DRPM than Tucker. http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/5

Love Dudley, I feel like he'll be a very good mentor for our young guys.

Surely even the NBA is affected by the global economy which is not looking great and is projected to slump sooner than later.
NBA makes money off TV rights due to advertisements and marketing opportunities. But a low confident consumer base will still lead to reduced business expansion and development for those corporations advertising.
Heck... Corporations are pushing to advertise on jerseys since that would be cheaper than running ads per TV telecast...
And about League pass??
Ive been paying top dollar the last 3 seasons.... But they just keep on raising the prices... And you see it now with all these ridiculous contracts...
Well guess what? Im not getting league pass next season. Online streaming I will return to. Or if I have to drive to a sports bar to watch playoffs.. Ill gladly do that.. I use to that a few years back... It will be cheaper than paying league pass.
So NBA have been optimistic with their projections... But it is not guaranteed that their profits will continue to rise... I just cannot fathom any sports star not names Lebron, Curry, Messi, Ronaldo etc. Making over 25 million a year.
**** Bazemore making 20 million is a sign.. Its wrong.

We can EASILY deal him for decent value after all wing free agents are signed because someone will have missed out. He will probably have more appeal than Chandler or Knight right after free agency ends. I think Chandler might have some appeal from a team like Dallas, but that's it. PJ may have several suitors.
