I don't know. Sarver seems like the type of guy that thinks we could get into the playoffs with our rookies if that's how we started the season and if we ended up with 20 something wins, McD failed. If he signs Millsap and we barely miss, he probably thinks he's close.
Sarver seems to kind of think like a casual fan about how McD is doing, so McD kind of has to appease that or he will likely lose his job. It sucks because he's kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place.
But to be fair on the other side, NO OWNER accepts losing for long...even Philly who embraced the tanking thing ended up basically squeezing Hinkie out anyway. Most every other team in the league, if not all of them are not embracing a FULL youth movement. These owners need to sell tickets, and as much as most of us want to see a ton of Bender and Chriss, most fans want to go see us win games, and if those guys play much, we won't. If we are look terrible to start the year, we won't sell many tickets.
The biggest problem of all of this is the Blanks era. It amplifies not making the playoffs, particularly for casual fans who don't pay much attention to specifics.
