If we end up with space to sign humphries and 'let' Atlanta dump splitter on us i'd probably still go for it.

That's the incetinve for us, yes.

I just think Kanter would be the perfect Center for D'Antoni and the way the Rockets have no chance at big FAs, I could see them opting for Kanter, especially since they have no bigmen under contract except Capela.

If you really look at the Centers becoming free agents this and next season, there's not much to pick from. And since the Rockets don't have that many tradeable assets, I think this might be a way for them to get a young talent in Kanter.
