But for a few of the big names, that seems like it is the best way to play this offseason anyway, that and trying to leverage cap space to get some quality unloads from bloated rosters. I just don't think EG's very good at those things, but he did manage the Hinrich maneuver and he picked up Dudley, Humphries and Blair using a variety of trickery, so in theory he could do better than I'm expecting he will.

I hate J Michael
Eddie and McClellan? Way to include our summer league players

McClellan a partial guarantee. Unless he's f-ing horrible, he's making the team. Probably same with Eddie. If we are getting the same quality players in FA, we might as well just go for the 8th spot.

And that's fine and a shrewd GM can find guys, but when you have $30M available, you expect to make a splash. Problem is we have too many holes to fill. At least we didn't overspend I guess, but if we wind up around .500 again next season, there's little hope that we get any of the elite FAs, whether we have the space or not.

If we end up paying, say, $12M a year for Sullinger instead of $28M for Horford, I wouldn't be all that broken up about it. Horford is 30. Sullinger is 24.

Sully is slow, can't defend the PF position, doesn't have a reliable long ball...

Me neither. That'd be making lemonade out of lemons. I think Sully has a good amount of untapped upside.

Sullinger is a backup at best.

Ernie can spend $85M and Ted will extend him for five more years. :noway:

Sullinger also has a good amount of "sold as is" downside. A Morris/Sullinger PF rotation is OK and the savings from Horford would leave money to sign another center, which they would need because they didn't get Horford. The difference between Horford and Sullinger feels like the difference between fighting for 8th seed and fighting to get into the ECF.

Wizards man...

Planning KD2DC and he don't even meet with them, chasing Horford to find out he is gonna end up in Boston...

Clueless idiots.

There we have it.....Woj announcing Horford to Celtics just 30 seconds ago.

4 years/113 million

And now Horford himself confirms! Confirmed now on Listin Diario he loved Dominican sports history in Boston and being closer to Dominican community. David Ortiz apparently worked hard on behalf of the Celtics.

Ted/Ernie need to do their homework. Annoying waste of time.
