Lakers' draft choice, and what did we give for Payton?

Post#1 » by MagicFanCincy » Sun Jul 3, 2016 1:01 am

Who can definitively tell me:

-- What draft choice went to Philly (along with Dario Saric) to acquire Elfred Patyon?

-- Do Magic still own a forthcoming Lakers' first round draft choice?

Looking to the future.

Thanks for any help.

we gave them back lottery protected pick they owed us from Vooch trade... basically, 76rs owed lottery protected first to Miami which become two seconds this season(later send to Boston), and we would get their next non-lotery pick after that one is conveyed. so, we would have rights to Philly pick starting from 2017 (lottery protected), which would become 2 seconds (not 100% sure about this part) if Philly is going to miss playoffs for next 3 seasons.

We should have rights to their 2019 first rounder only if their 2017 pick converts to philly (top 3 protectted). If I'm not mistaken, that pick should be top protected in 2019 and unprotected in 2020.

Pick will actually be unprotected 2019

Although I believe it becomes two second round picks if the Lakers don't send next year's pick to Philadelphia.

Thats why i love these mediocre veterans they are signing. Good enough to get them out of the top 3 lottery. Not good enough to actually be good. The dream would be they arent top 3 lottery this year, then completely implode again.
