Didn't Durant say he will announce before July 9th,
GSW have ten days to match any offer to Barnes even if he signs today...
doesn't that make it possible if you just follow the calendar right? It brings us over the cap but is it possible?

If I'm doing the match right: The moratorium ends July 6th, Barnes signs the offer sheet that day, we have until the 9th to match it or let him walk. I guess this is why Durant says he'll announce prior to the 9th.

Pretty much, and with the signed RFA offer in place, it becomes a cap hold on the Mavs as well as the Warriors.

Im no cap-ologist. I defer to statsman or ChuckDurn with that stuff. Im just stating it should be possible with what you laid out but I don't know the inner workings of rules in the NBA outside I know a team cant trade a TPE, lol.

Dirk would sign with the vet minimum if he came here. It's not about the money if he was here, it would be for another ring.

Anthony Tolliver just got 9m/yr. I think Dirk still wants more than a guy like King Tolly

He has left millions and millions upon millions on the table so Cuban could surround him with misfits so Carlisle could perform his magic. I can easily see him signing a team oriented contract. He knows how things work.

A Mavs fan lended the same thoughts. He wouldn't be coming here for the money. He would simple let Cuban pay him if that is what he was about and suffer through a rebuild or the same old crap.

He could have just been fine getting paid less from Mavs only. I'm only saying that when scrubs like Dellavadevavolavadova are getting 10m per, Dirk deserves a little bit of that action too. 10m per was almost a max contract when Dirk was coming into the league.

Not much they can say. Either match the signed RFA offer or decline.

Dirk has mentioned that he will only leave if the Mavs starts 5 rookies. Either way, he's staying. You match or not to match.

Yeah. Parsons owes him all the meal but being non-competitors in playoff. From these words, you know Dirk dislikes him. So he says no to Dwight Howard.

You cant S&T with a signed RFA offer sheet. Everything until 7/7 is in theory. Remember the DeAndre.

We'd rather not.

I fully expect the W's to match if Durant doesn't come, but assuming he announces prior to Barnes actually signing the sheet, and assuming the W's decide they don't want to match (theoretical only mind you) its possible the W's could ask Dallas to turn the deal into a S&T to create a giant TPE for the W's in case there is no one left in free agency they really want, but would like a lot of flexibility to add a player via trade(or even have a player S&T'd into that TPE while leaving the rest of it open for the deadline).

I don't really see much of a fit talent wise for any of the Mavs players unless maybe Devin was brought in if Barbosa signed elsewhere or something like that. I still think you guys match with no KD, but if not a S&T still makes sense for the Warriors just for more flexibility and I'm sure Dallas would cooperate for a little cash or even just to create a little goodwill since obviously Dallas isn't competing on the Warriors level anytime soon,

Interesting. I just assumed a S&T would be out of the question with the Mavs. It didn't happen after the Parsons signing, but I think there was more bad blood in that situation. If the Mavs wanted to guarantee they got Barnes, that would be one way to do it without the need to add a trade kicker or player option years to a RFA offer. This assumes the Warriors would be willing to let Barnes go.

If Lacob wants to be aggressive he signs Dirk for the vet min now with more money for Dirk under the table in Swiss Franks. That solves the back up center and back up power forward problems. Start Klay at small forward.

Sign Matt Barnes. Let Matt cheap shot people if it needs to be done and hope that helps Draymond stay out of trouble. Find a guard that can score.

If the Warriors match this they are complete fools.....that's $23 million a year for Harrison fu***** Barnes....he's not even worth half of that. I will lose all respect for Meyers and Lacob if they match that offer.

I hear you but Tolliver went the Kings for God's sake.

Solomon Jones got 4/54.

This will be one of the biggest mistakes in this franchise's history if they match that contract, it will severely deplete our bench, which has been one of our biggest assets over the past couple of years, especially when you consider how much we're going to have to pay Curry next year.
