Because it's coming. Guy has gotten a free pass all these years and loves to lash out at the media for treatment. He ain't seen nothing yet

It's basketball and entertainment. Not life or death. But alright, you can judge Durant's character for joining whatever team he feels like he'll enjoy the most for whatever reason.

Where exactly am I judging his character based on this move? I can judge your reading comprehension as poor, but I didn't judge kd's character. All I did was call him a thin skinned wannabe, and I felt that before this ever happened. He has spent a career blasting the press that has largely given him a pass. He's entitled to make whatever move he wants. I'm entitled to think it's weak if he makes it. I didn't call him a bad person.

He has spent a couple months blasting the media and then he smarted up and stopped doing it. Whatever it is you have against him really can't be solely because of that.

It'd make way more sense to actually hate on him for joining GSW instead of just for that but maybe that's just me.

I really find it funny when people say this. Would you be saying this if it was Boston who had just won a title 2 years ago and KD was considering joining you? If it was Boston who won 73 games last year? If it was Boston who went to back-to-back finals?

People need to stop judging someones character because they want to do what they're rightfully entitled to do, especially when they wouldn't do so if it was THEIR team he was potentially joining.

Probably not. However, would I fault every NBA for judging him? Hell no. It's not good for the game.

Then don't judge him if he doesn't join your team. It's extremely hypocritical. Is it good for the game if he joins the Warriors? No. Would it be good for the game if the Celtics were in the Warriors shoes and he joined them? No. There's no difference so don't cheer for him in one situation and **** on him in another.

Why go through all this to just stay on a 1 year contract and do it again next year. I think it's GS and it's a no-brainer. Every action has pointed to him leaving OKC, it was just a matter of where.

I played around in the roster builder with that but I think, if they want to keep Jerebko (which I think they should); they waive Amir/Holland and then move some combination of Rozier/Mickey/Hunter's $$$ and I think (but don't quote me as I'm no capologist) they would still be able to sign Brown, Bentil, Jackson, have their 2 foreign guys stay overseas and have the 26mil to sign KD.

And then they'd still have the 2.8mil Room Exception, which, rumor has it, IT4 is trying to get Jamal Crawford to take if KD signs on. And if they sign Sully and Zeller, which I just threw out a baseline of 12mil per for the both of them, since that seems to be the going rate, BOS could be in 110-118 salary range, which, isn't too shabby WITH having most of their core guys locked up for 2+ years.

IT4/Smart/Rozier
Bradley/JCraw/Young
KD/Crowder/Brown
Horford/Jerebko/Sully/Bentil
Zeller/Olynyk

Some iteration of this squad, I like it. I also like it for the Eastern Conference. Competing BOS/NYK makes the league even better when the larger markets have contenders. With improvements by DET/IND, we could finally have some competition going on in both conferences for a change.

He's on of the Celtics moderators on the Boston board. He's @ the Orlando Summer League.. very legitimate source.

A couple of months? You need to pay closer attention. First off he has always had an icey relationship with their local media outside of Royce young. He had the ridiculous blowup at allstar weekend with the national media a couple years back which was just childish and he was forced to apologize for his wannabe tough guy act. He blasted the media this year for treatment of Kobe of all people. He whined about the mr unreliable headline a couple years back which may have been the first ever negative word uttered about him, and the paper actually apologized to him for it (that's how sweet he has had it). Those are just a few examples that come to mind. Durant has a running track record of constantly blasting the media that has gone out of their way to not blast him

And I don't hate KD. I think he is massively thin skinned though, and if he lived in Lebron or kobe's world he might have to be committed to an instititution to deal with life based on how he reacts to the little he gets

At first I thought he would easily just do the 1+1 and stay in OKC, but that might mean he misses the window to join GSW in creating one of the greatest teams ever (on paper). I bet he's being pitched hard that if he stays another year he might find himself stuck in OKC with other teams moving onto building in other directions. Like this year is the year to move if it's going to happen.

Because of that I think there's a really high chance he decides to come to GS. What a nailbiter.

Exactly my thoughts on the situation.

I was convinced for the longest time that he would stay in OKC and do a 1+1 but if he's seriously thinking it might not all work out in OKC with WB and Donovan, he might as well go to GSW now.

I still won't be surprised by either OKC or GSW getting him, but would be really surprised by him joining Boston.

Frankly I'm still shocked they got a meeting...

The talent around Durant in OKC is better than that in Boston...much much better...WB is a billion times better than anyone on Boston. Coaching...maybe Stevens is great, but Donovan is great too.

I am still at a loss why Boston would be considered. You still have to face LeBron and the Cavs at some point, why not face them with WB or the roster of the Warriors instead of Isaiah Thomas and other "scrappy" players.

It's OKC or Warriors. And anyone saying he will be villified for choosing any team is wrong. "Boston fans never forget" lmao. Do people think KD is going to read that and be scared into not picking that team? haha.

Can't wait to hear so this settles down. If I were forced to pick where he goes, I'm going to say he stays OKC. But it's very close...makes sense to go GSW too...cant decide....ahhh...one of those two!!

I'm not disputing that. What I'm disputing is the fact that you have the audacity to want to **** on him for joining the Warriors while you'd never do that if the Celtics were in the Warriors shoes and he was considering joining you.

If you'd lose respect for him if he joined the Warriors then you should lose respect for him if the Celtics were the Warriors in this instance and he joined you. The situations would be the exact same.

This would be so much more exciting if twitter didn't exist and we were under the impression that all 30 teams were still in the running. Even Nets and Sixers fans would have a little bit of optimism til the last second.
