Someone help me out, has there ever been a general consensus top 5 player lose to their biggest obstacle in the playoffs and then join them the next season to chase a ring?

He's had 6 long meetings over the course of 2 days not including telephone conversations with Jerry West and another meeting with OKC.

Maybe he's just tired and wants to clear his mind before making a decision. :dontknow:

Maybe, but I find it to be an incredibly hard sell that Durant doesn't know what he's doing right now. And if you truly don't know yet, how are you supposed to be sure you will know by tomorrow? I think he surely knows one way or the other

Not sure why people are still mentioning the Spurs, and how they could even make it work financially with Timmy and Manu returning. That is an old roster.

The crazy thing about anticipation is... it's exactly like busting a nut. Once you've done it, now it's time to move on to something else. Durant is milking it and hey, it's his prerogative. No one said he has to sign on his holiday weekend. He can wait till August if he likes.

I just can't personally remember it happening (though I'm sure someone with more knowledge of the history of the game will correct me). I mean, if you do that you better win it all. The media backlash will be pretty savage if you don't.

He may know where he's leaning but there is no pressure to make a decision today I don't believe he's 100% decided. Always good to sleep on these things before making a final decision.

No. This would be like LeBron joining the Celtics after 2010 only they had prime KG.

I'm pretty sure he knows his decision, but isn't 100% committed. Probably wants to sleep on it and announce in the morning.

And I'm almost convinced the decision is Warriors. :nonono:

This is 100% what I'm feeling now.

I think he's gone, and I think his agents want to bury the story on the 4th.

That's my gut feeling. This is a tried-and-true tactic.

The other choice is KD wants to soak in the OKC love by announcing it on the 4th, making it a great holiday for Oklahomans, but my guess is he's gone and they want to bury the story on the holiday.

I do not envy OKC fans now. This is tough, that it's being done like this.

Remember how uncomfortable LeBron looked during the Decision even though he had already made up his mind?

I'm kind of surprised after what Lebron went through another player is going to go this route especially a lowkey guy like Durant who would face a lot of backlash and media frenzy on the warriors. For a player who's gotten fairly little criticsm throughout his career, every move on GS would be scrutinized.

Good question. I can't recall it ever happening.

Old Man Game- I do not think it's ever been done. Call me crazy but I just do not think Durant has it in him leave Westbrook right now. With that said maybe he's spoken to Westbrook and Westbrook told him he needs to do what's best for him (ala Blake and Deandre Jordan) and wouldn't give him a definite answer on whether or not he's returning when it's his turn for free agency next summer.

Durant already knows I'm pretty sure. Just letting his team finalise his official letter on the Players Tribune for it to be released in the morning.

If that's the case. Inform the team, they'll inform Woj, he'll tweet, don't write an article and everyone can move on.

Some of this is about attention, let's be honest.
