If the NBPA tried to get cute and opt out , a lockout is deserving this time around.

I don't think they'll go bankrupt but you never know. Especially since cable cutting has already cause them problems and with Hulu or Apple TV possibly about to start live streaming hit shows, Twitter live streaming Thursday Night Football, streaming sport sites for cheap, Netflix getting every new Disney movie every two months(deal was signed in 2012)and Yahoo and Bleacher Report being so much better, I expect a lot of cable cutting especially if Hulu or Apple TV could pull off live streaming hit shows.

Toss up between Parsons & Rivers.

And honestly, it's still good to see that Dell Demps still has not clue what he's doing. Not only did he give Hill this absolutely ludicrous and excessive contract, he goes and signs another fring-ish guy in Etwaan Moore to a $32 million contract. Moore also likely wouldn't be in the rotation for many teams in the NBA. Langston Galloway must also be on the phone with his agent asking the same thing that Lance Thomas must be asking.

EDIT: Now there's a Pel's fan (who appears to love both signings) on their board hoping that they give the remaining $8 million to Quincy Acy. :o

I can see you haven't watched either guy play.

I can understand trepidation about the Hill contract, even though the contract number everyone is quoting is incorrect. Woj was wrong in his initial report. He didn't get 52 million.

But Moore? Every Bulls message board I've been to is apoplectic they didn't sign him for that. He has elite defensive capability. He's a good player.

Crawford, how are you gonna give a 37 year old a 3 year deal?

Just came in to add Jamal Crawford to the top of the list.

As happy as I am yet to see three years of JCross doing his dribbling and iconic hand licking... yikes!

Austin Rivers for me, the very definition of nepotism. Wow, this shouldn't be allowed. Having your dad the GM sign you far above your likely going range. Then force feeding you minutes you don't deserve on a playoff contender to justify the contract.

Googled it and there doesn't seem to be a consensus on it. But either way, 48 vs. 52 isn't exactly a signficant difference.

Rivers deserves ZERO mentions as the worst, I'm sorry. Austin's deal is middle of pack. Slight overpay, but FAR from the worst. People are just so caught up on the nepotism angle that they don't realize Austin has worked hard and improved, was one of the better perimeter defenders last year and steps up in the playoffs big for us in back to back years now.

1. Mozgov
2. Jamal Crawford
3. John Leuer

Stand out as hands down the dumbest deals of free agency.

Bonus round: Best deals of free agency so far.

1. Cole Aldrich
2. Aaron Afflalo
3. Joe Johnson

These 3 are my fantastic bargain deals of the offseason so far.

That's false. Mozgov didnt get playing time much last year cause the Cavs used a different style. Hos first year with them he played well. The Lakers hsd to use 90% of the cap space this yesr so they had to sign someone to fill that in so they dont get penalized.

That's circular. If they don't use 90% of their cap then they have to spend the rest bumping up their current players till they hit 90%.

So there was no need to throw money at anyone, especially long term. Their motivation should only be getting worthwhile players. The money this year would be spent regardless.

Crawford and Rivers are dreadful.

Hill and Moore are both decent players it I'd let them at BAE or room exception.

If my Mavs hit Barnes with a max, thats up their too. Also overpay for Powell.

Love Johnson deal for Utah.

Yeah, Solomon Hill and Rivers are not really bad contracts. Maybe a bit over their ideal range but they're young and will improve, they're the type of contracts everyone's gonna be fine with in 2 years. For what it's worth, Austin said he had offers from NY, Portland and Orlando in the same money range, but stayed because he's comfortable and stuff. Giving him a player option made no sense, but that doesn't make it the worst contract.

Crawford on the other hand, just overtook Turner and Mozgov's deals as the worst so far.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I'm not too au fait with US and Canada's tax laws.

Am I right in assuming that each state has different levels of tax? So for instance, a player signing a contract to play for the Heat would be worth more (net, not gross) than another player signing a contract to play for the Knicks for the exact same amount?

Just interested to know....
