Re: Durant
One source says by Noon tomorrow. Definitely nothing tonight. But the 12:00 timeframe is very loose. And he confirmed it will still come via The Players' Tribune.
On that note, I'm calling it a night. Thanks for making it one hell of an afternoon fellas!

KD going to be the talk of a LOT of BBQs!
I'm going to bet late tonight or early tomorrow. Everyone is off for the day, I'm sure Durant doesn't want to fart around with some announcement in the middle of his holiday.
Plus, if it's too late, everyone is out running around looking at fireworks, pretty much the absolute worst time for a big announcement I'd think.
Gotta go early on this one.
Excellent analysis; only caveat is if he doesn't know what the hell he's doing (meaning: where he's signing).
Otherwise yeah, probably the west coast (and the hung over) wake up to this?
Edit: just saw Smitty's "noon" post (noon Eastern? Smitty has sauces? [not at all questioning I've just been away])

Just gonna stuff my face and go into a food coma for the night. Maybe he goes to the Magic to pair with Ibaka. We will see.

The Miami thing is offbase. Seems like Twitter click bait. No one has mentioned Miami in quite a while, except to say they are out.

Sounds like he's covering summer league in Utah so Celtics people around. Can't remember through who though.
I'm going to go with my earlier thought on this, he knows where he's headed he just has to finish writing his paper. Damn announcements don't write themselves!

I prefer alfredo. Any cheese or cream based sauce is good actually.

I'm in Orlando actually. OKC people here (but they don't seem overly well connected. Just as confused as the rest of us!) but a ton of league wide people who are very well connected.
But everyone agrees that no one knows, but that it is down to BOS, OKC and GSW.

Golden State.
I think OKC is out. It shouldn't take this long to say he's coming back.
And I think the Celtics made progress and were really close, but Golden State is that much more of a "guarantee". But that is truly just my opinion. Nothing more than that.

I almost wish you made a twitter for this, so I could just follow up with your posts in this thread and not have to scroll through 92 pages to get your latest updates. Thank you Smitty

I would almost think that KD with his reps has already written 6 letters of him going/remaining at all 6 teams or at least the 3 most likely scenarios.
Not too hard to write 6 1 page letters.
With Boston he can play up the teams tradition and fan base, Horford, IT, Crowder, Smart, Bradley, Brown, Steven's and make a vague reference to the teams assets.
With Golden State just say he could see a great fit since they could use some front court scoring. A little awkward to write but still not hard.
With OKC it is easy and just say he won't to give it another go.
With SAS Leonard/Aldridge and their history of winning.
With Heat.... this is the tough one to write since while they do have some assets, they have too many question marks.
Clippers he can tout their big 3 and Rivers. I do think they are completely out of it.

Re: Durant
At least we're still in it. Final buzzer hasn't sounded yet. We've come this far. Might as well see it through.

So you don't think he cares about how the rest of the world think of him besides warrior fans ?

Re: Durant
great thing is we don't need Durant....sure we would love him...but if nothing changes we are going to roll into next season with IT / Bradley / Crowder / Johnson / Horford... that team is pretty good. Add up BPMs you get get 14.3...nice. Bench of Smart, Olynyk, Brown, Rozier, Mickey, Jerekbo. 11 solid who can contribute. Maybe you get something from Young, Hunter, this years other picks.
that team flirts with 55 wins IMO. Still have the fire power to make a big trade as well.
