I read earlier the finalists were Miami GSW and OKC. Celtics are most likely out it seems

Link? I did not see that Miami news.

I guess they weren't happy about him saying Celtics were out of the running. Hopefully no one here.

Not cool for fans to do that. Unfortunately, the internet exposes lots of idiots.

Everyone should respect him for staying in OKC, with that being said, I wouldn't if I was him. Spurs or GSW is BS nonsense IMO.

The Miami thing was confirmed fake. Some OKC ESPN reporter said GSW or OKC, Boston reporters say OKC,GSW, Boston.

I tend to believe OKC, GSW, Boston because there haven't been reputable sources saying otherwise. ESPN has been flogging GSW and OKC as the only contenders for months.

Agreed. To media we then all get lumped together and we all look like a$$holes. Not cool. :banghead:

Miami was false for sure--don't remember who said it, but one of the reputable reporters said they were out.

KD really just had 3 reasonable choices this summer OKC, GSW and BOS. Anywhere else would have been a surprise to me unless KD wanted to play for peanuts and go to the Clippers.

I would honestly choose the 76ers and TWolves before the Heat and I am no huge Heat hater.

I agree with that. But, you're 27 years old...Miami is a major draw.

BTW, I didn't really pay attention to "The Decision" of LeBron. I was wondering how accurate were the reports back then that he would go to Miami.

Yeah those are wrong. It's OKC, GS, and the Celtics. That's it. No one else.

I'm 24 and I don't agree with the premise. Especially since KD said it will be a purely basketball decision.

LeBron too. Wonder if he will spend the next five years slamming KDs inner circle like he did Maverick Carter?

Downside to legacy goes both ways though. No rings = Karl Malone. West's pitch that you can win or you can lose but losing is forever so you better win is strong. In the long run I think no championships is going to be worse than to join a super team. Makes perfect sense to me. As a Cs fan I don't like it but I get it. It's going to depend on what Durant personally values and how he seems himself. I'm not really optimistic right now. I really like that we got this far but it might be small consolation in a short while.

F it. I'm staying up to 4 am. Sleeping in past 12 and hoping it's over when I wake cause I can't handle the disappointment after hours of refreshing.

Yeah, the Clippers, Spurs and Heat just had too many structural challenges to get in this game for real.

Yep, same, plus Durant will put a ton of pressure on himself. This GSW team can hardly get any better, they got unlucky with Curry and Iggy injuries, the same way Cavs were unlucky last year. I actually think 100% vs 100% healthy squads, GSW is still better than the Cavs.
Good assessment:

Exactly, He always had 3 brackets:

OKC as a bracket of 1.

The Rich-Get-Richer bracket; GS beat SA in that one pretty handily, while CLE wasn't even invited to compete.

The Vault-Into-Contention bracket: BOS won that one against LAC and MIA.

Now there's a Round of Three. The winner will be decided soon after he wakes up in the morning and determines whether or not he feels the same way as he did when he went to sleep.

IMHO if I was 27 years old and KD.... I would probably only want to date hot woman that also are pretty darn bright that are not stalking me for my wealth/fame. More likely to find that in some sort of grad student at a Boston area college than in Miami.

At the end of the day, KD can party anywhere and pretty much tons of woman want to date famous guys that will be worth 500+ million. But does he want to end up like a lot of nba players with a bunch of woman just using him?

I see weather/taxes as the real advantage of Miami over Boston but if he is concerned with weather, GSW better choice. And if he is concerned with endorsements, I feel Miami is a terrible choice since he is unlikely to win it all there and his national profile will just get hurt.
