Yea people have been digging up old tweets with Durant bitterly responding to the idea of joining to form super teams etc. If he does it, no doubt it's hypocritical.

Lol I don't think GS fans need to worry about this. Durant elevates to NBA dark age for everyone else, but even without him Warriors are favorites for the forseeable future until Karl Anthony Towns takes his rightful throne over the 7 kingdoms :).

KD will make the decision that he feels most comfortable with. He wont and shouldnt care what fans think. Backlash? Look what going to Miami did for Lebrons legacy and the reaction he got for The Decision. Never make decisions for the appeasement of others. Parity? Lebron joined Miami and then Cleveland once they had the ability to form big 3s in the weak east. Thats stacking the deck no matter how you spin it. KD going to a 73 win team doesnt mean squat since they didnt win it all as many like to point out. Now youre gona play the historic team card? Lmao KD will do whats best for him, period.

Getting annoyed, I think KD is waiting for the moment before the 4th of July fireworks to make his announcement.

It's not even noon there, maybe he's really torn, I mean, this is not an easy decision to make.

People getting annoyed realize Lebron took 11 days? This has taken 3. It's actually REALLY quickly for a guy who's entire world is about to change possibly.

I'm betting he does what we all thought before the off-season. 1 year deal plus option and stays in OKC.

Lmao is this a joke? Sure, GS was bad for a long time but RIGHT NOW, as in recent years... they are nearing a dynasty. Boston on the other hand is a 3-5 seed in the east with a ton of assets but without a superstar is locked into not joining legit contender status. So there is nothing ironic. Boston IS the heavy underdog here in terms of situation.

so when was the last time GS landed a superstar by either free agency or through trades?

JeepCSC wrote:So how do Warrior fans look at this? You just won 73 games, almost won back-to-back. Isn't there a part of you that would rather just see them roll the dice as is and see how things shake out, and not deal with all the crap you'll get with this? Why put up with the headaches and even more pressure when you already at the top more or less?

I mostly look at this as fun, and a win-win. If we get Durant, will we be better? Hell, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure we won't be bad, and we'll be a ton of fun to watch. We could be an offensive juggernaut like nothing that has ever been seen, but it will be scary basically having no center. If we don't get Durant, we can run out largely the same team that won 73 games last year. I would not be in favor of bringing back Barnes at that max offer; not because he "sucks", but because he simply isn't enough of a difference maker to merit using that percentage of your cap. If we start Brandon Rush instead of Barnes, I doubt it takes more than a few wins off our record, and Rush is nothing to write home about.

And if he doesn't come here, I'll be pulling for Boston, though I find it very unlikely. I'd like to see another team in the East put up a legit fight, and Boston is one of the best candidates to do so. I was bummed when they didn't win the lottery, but if they added Horford and Durant, that would certainly do the trick. I still don't think I'd pick them to win the East, but they'd definitely make it interesting.

100 percent irrelevant to being an underdog. Warriors have drafted amazingly well, like Spurs and Thunder. Doesn't mean they are underdogs because they don't acquire superstars via trade LMAO. Boston did for KG and Allen and now your idea is because nearly a decade ago the Celtics made a trade, they shouldn't be underdogs RIGHT NOW in the acquisition based on silly arbitrary stuff like that?

Or makes him realize how good a decision it was for Bron to go the Heat in 2010.

Celtics have a great future and would be a title contender with KD. Not sure how you can say it's a worse roster by far with a top 5 defense IT and added Horford. Plus they could use the Nets picks to get another star if needed. Seems like you're kind of talking out of your ass here.

I want KD to join the Celtics. It's better for all of his competitors because they'd get bounced easily by the Cavs and him leaving OKC makes them an easy out too.

KD doesn't need a team"built to win in the future" he needs a team reedy to win now. Horford is a nice player. But he's maybe the 30th...40th best player in the league? He's leaving a guy that is an obvious top ten player (WB) to join Horford and and a much much much worse version of WB? I don't buy it.

The only thing that melds sense is KD staying in OKC who is built to win now and is obviously ready to take even another step with their most recent trade or to go to the Warriors. Him going to Boston mKes no sense. But hey if he wants to be "Alpha" and go to a worse team than what he's on now and make the west easier on my Jazz and make the Warriors less good? I'm all for it. It's stupid of him. But I'm down for that.

It's pretty intellectually dishonest for anyone to argue it'd be a better situation for him to win in Boston than in the other two. Kind of entertaining to see people try to argue it. But I guess I get it for Boston fans to do it :)

I'm not a Boston fan and I think it's a similar situation, once you factor the Celtics ability to add another star player via trade.

Boston won 48 games last season, would replace Evan Turner and Amir Johnson with Kevin Durant and Al Horford and have the assets to add a third star without weakening their core. Plus they have an excellent coach. Of course it's a great situation in terms of contending. Right now, Boston is better than OKC without Durant.

People underrate how good Thomas is, and the difference elite defenders like Bradley and Crowder can make.

I will add that I think Adams is every bit as good of not better than Horford. And WB is about 100x better than IT. Add in Oladipo and to me it's clear what team is better.

I've never gotten why he wants Boston other than its in a weaker conference but he still needs to beat Lebron which won't happen in Boston.

If KD is about winning s ring and that's the priority in this decision he'll stay in OKC or go to the Warriors.

But as I keep saying. I selfishly hope hope hope he goes to Boston.
