Isn't there a part of you that would rather just see them roll the dice as is and see how things shake out, and not deal with all the crap you'll get with this? Why put up with the headaches and even more pressure when you already at the top more or less?
I mostly look at this as fun, and a win-win. If we get Durant, will we be better? Hell, I don't know.
Huh?
We will end up with a team that could basically not have a center on the roster. We'd also have much less quality depth in general. So it would end up being a pretty different team in style, nevermind roster, spending much more effort trying to just outscore teams rather than relying on defense, because some teams are going to take it inside and we'll have not much of a way to stop them.
Getting Durant quite possibly could mean losing Bogut and Ezeli. We could seriously end up with someone like Varejao as the best big man on our team. You can be cute all you like about Durant being good, and that actually isn't news to me, but we would end up going all-in on small ball in an epic way. And we won 73 games last year; acting like it is a no-brainer that we'd improve is weird. You think we're a lock for what... 75? 76?
