Will the Magic have a 20 ppg player this year?

Post#1 » by drsd » Mon Jul 4, 2016 12:45 pm

With a refined roster harboring numerous defensive players, the scoring load seems to be plausible to increase for several players.

That got me believing that for the first time since Dwight Howard left, the Magic could have a 20 ppg guy.

Do you think this roster will sport one or more such players? In the poll I give an option for multiple players if you believe that more than one will go over 20. Please vote for all players you think will go for 20 this year.

I think Fournier can if he puts up 15-16 FGA/gm. He'll probably have a good chunk of the season at 20ppg but might not be able to sustain it. I definitely see him over 18ppg though.

I think Vooch will be right around where he was last year. I don't see his scoring increasing with Ibaka having a bit more of an offensive role with us. Also his minutes will probably be cut a bit depending on how well Biyombo plays.

We're very deep now... it's going to be difficult for any player to get to that mark.

I don't think we'll have 20 PPG player but we'll probably have three (Vuc, Fournier, Ibaka) with 15-19 PPG.

Fournier if Vuc isn't in the starting lineup.

I don't think we will have anyone average 20. It will be scoring by committee.

I think without Oladipo and Harris, Vucevic is going to get a slight bump in scoring and he goes for 20 this year.

Not that I want to bench him, but if Vuc comes off the bench, he'll avg 20. He'll beast other backup bigs.

Vucevic has been right there the last two years. With as offensively deficient as this team looks, I believe he'll average 20. I think Fournier could, but Evans shot selection needs to show a lot of improvement for that to happen. His scoring will go up, but I see him around 18 with Ibaka and Gordon getting around 15.

Yes, Fournier. Possibly two, with he and Vuc.

Fournier and possibly Vuc should get very close. I think both have a real shot at an all star game this year

Not offensively, we don't really have very many scorers
I think we have 3 guys who could be 20ppg scorers if they get enough PT

1. Hezonja
2. Fournier
3. Vucevic

In that order

That is assuming that hezonja wins the 3 spot like i think he will

No one will because Westbrook is averaging 35ppg once Rob gets him in Orlando.

I don't think Vuc can get there since he has upgraded competition for his minutes. Even with Evan's momentary shot-chucking tendencies I'm not sure he can manage as defenses will key on him. So yeah scoring by committee this year.

It appears to me that this team as constructed provides Fournier all the opportunity he could hope for to be The Man. Voted him. Too much uncertainty regarding Vucevics' role at this point.

I think in general, Fournier has the best chance....and we also have the least amount of depth at the SG spot. He will have the ball a lot and the minutes to do it.
