Payne sort of looks like the kind of guy who will be a pretty streaky scorer his whole career. The commentators today even pointed out how the release on that jumper isn't real consistent.

Wouldn't put much stock in anything that happened tonight. Apparently he asked for a cell phone during the game to check on the kd situation.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Through two games I'll make these observations. Payne has looked liked he was a superior player to the rest of the competition. McGary and Dakari have had stretches where they looked good and bad. Dakari needs another year in the D-League, but he should have a future in the NBA. McGary needs to stay healthy so he can develop, but he should have a solid career as a rotation player. Huestis seems like a poor man's Tony Allen and not the 2nd coming of Andre Roberson, although he shows some flashes so he might still develop into a more well rounded player. No one else has even seemed relevant.

Anyone watch today's game? I didn't get home from work until it was almost over.

Great read on Summer League and whether its predictive of NBA success. In short, for points it isn't for rebounds it may be and for assists it is.
