I'm still waiting for some kind of report from someone that the Celtics are even attempting to do something else. Because right now it's seeming like Ainge is ready to go into the regular season.

I only watched one complete game of Brown's. If he has a straight line to the rim he can destroy the rim. Brown actually has really good body control and plenty of moves in all directions - hang dribbles, hesitations, and a crossover he uses to get space for his jumper (to his right only though). He meets other players in the air and they bounce off of him. And unlike a guy like Stanley Johnson, who is just a touch stiffer, Brown seems to be able to hang in the air and find space for a shot after contact. In short he's definitely not just a straight-line dunker, his creativity going to the hoop is why he was such a highly-rated prospect coming out of high school.

It may take him a while in the NBA, though. (I'd expect tonight to be ugly). He's going to have to get used to bigger guys, and his handle isn't great. But he's so strong and such an explosive leaper that it's almost impossible to imagine he won't be a good scorer eventually, unless his jumper completely disintegrates.

This is a little unfair - Brown is not going to be as shifty as guys like Wall or IT2. Shawn Marion wasn't that shifty and he was an all-star. Not doubt Dunn has some crazy change of direction ability - he was just sick at times. But Brown is going to play alot more Bully ball - think like Lebron..

Well, I admitted my observation was from watching one full game. He did pick up 3 charging fouls in that game, basically barreling into defenders. I hope it was an aberration. No, I don't expect him to be as shifty as guards, and certainly nothing like the 5'8' Thomas, just hoping for better shake and change of direction on the dribble drive than I saw in that game. We'll see. I love the way he destroys the rim, though.

He will still do that at times I bet. He showed flashes of very good moves and shiftiness getting to the rim that are encouraging. Day one he'll still have bad drives for sure, but over time I think he'll get to the rim easier and more consistently. Once he gets there his body control is very good from what I've seen and he gets to the line a lot.

Get rid of Zeller. Go for Ezeli 1+1 contract type and start the season. Ideally try to get Noel out of 76ers. That's the plan for me.

If the basketball gods are working here we will see Brown become the next greatest thing.

Kobe always talked about how he feels like he was passed the torch from Jordan, and Jordan was passed the torch from Jerry West. There was a little window in there. Maybe the torch is being passed yet again.

Be patient. We got to make decisions about Amir and Jerebko and are looking to trade them possibly. Ainge is doing well. We got Horford. Everything else is gravy.

Yeah, we missed out on the top free agent and a top 5 player.

But we were long shots anyway. Danny and co did all they could and we were in the conversation - how is that not a positive sign for next year, or the year after.

The future is still bright. Horford is a great signing and if a couple of guys improve the ECF is a realistic aim this year.

I say we pick up Johnson and Jerebko - both are decent bench players and good contracts for a trade if required. Let Zeller walk and wait and see on Sullinger (havnt heard any rumours about him?). But he could end being a bargain if we bring him back (see Crowder, Bradley deals).

The future is no less bright than it was before the announcement. We havnt lost anything - we are not OKC.

No teasing, no mocking. Just like on the court you win some but certainly lose some. I don't think many of us see any conspiracy against the Celtics -- e.g., (almost) everyone wanted Simmons and everyone wanted Durant -- we didn't get lucky this time. We got lucky with KG and with Pierce. We got lucky a TON in 1981 and prior.

Watch Jaylen play a bit before calling him trash. Not many of us are saying he's a sure-fire HOFer but there's not-terrible odds he develops into the sort of star we wish we were adding this summer (Harden/Westbrook/Cousins level -- but maybe we can help nurture him to not have the lazy/crazy).
