Joe Lacob: Warriors were primary reason for salary cap increase, plan to use new technology to revolutionize basketball

You know what, he does says some arrogant and outlandish things, and is obviously full of himself a bit, but I have never heard anyone say he was a jerk to work for. One of the reasons he got rid of Jackson was because even though Jackson had some success, he was a jerk to pretty much all the other employees except for the players. Lacob wanted an organization full of collaboration and respect, and Jackson was out of tune with that.

Also, Lacob has some strong opinions, but the thing that works with our team is that no one opinion rules any debates or discussions. He has also done some pretty cool things like chartering a plane and flying every full time Warriors employee to game 3 last year in Cleveland, and gave out over 200 championship rings to employees also. I have emailed him twice, once after the Mullin ceremony booing scene, and during the finals last year, and he replied with some positive messages.

I guess I just see him as our promoter, someone always talking about our the team and the brand, even when it comes off arrogant. Compared to our previous owner, and as long as the players and employees havent complained about working with him, I'm fine with him running his mouth.

It's less about his attitude and more about his total disrespect to the people that have been around long before he has. Cuban is pretty arrogant too, but he doesn't go around claiming to have innovated small ball (something past Warriors teams utilized, along with several other teams) and claiming to be light years ahead of everybody after winning one championship.

When you have 17 straight seasons of 50+ wins and continually find ways to adapt to your team's playstyle to its core and find talent internationally like the Spurs have, then you can talk about being light years ahead of everybody.

Lacob's a great owner but absolutely a total a** ..Don Nelson (who Lacob fired) some credit for small ball..But it's Nellie's coach Red Auerbach who is the original user of small ball to help the C's win championships..He deserves at least 90% of the credit. Nelson has credited Red over and over ..But nobody cares about the real history of the NBA..

Celtics played more outside-in during that first dynasty, Russell wasn't the scoring showcase of his contemporaries--he focused on defense and pushing the pace and setting up his guys--so the offense tended to run through their guards: Havlicek, Jones, Cousey, Jones, and Sharman. They played Havlicek and Ramsey up a spot. Samders and Heinsohn weren't exceptionally huge and Heinsohn was a face-up guy. They did get a little more size later in Silas and Cowens.
