Dude is joining a 73 win team with 3 all stars in their primes; one of them an MVP. A team who beat him after being down 1-3 and were moments away from repeating without him. You don't like people sh*tting on him for that? Well then don't read the comments.

He deserves all the hate he'll get.

Funny how if the Warriors had traded or drafted Durant this would be ok with everyone. Who cares if they sign him as a FA.

Durant can now help the Warriors be the greatest team of all time. Compete for 4-5 titles. If the Warriors end up doing something ridiculous like winning 5 straight chips wouldn't it be worth it?

Of course it would.

It's not about the Warriors trying to add a piece or a great player to their team. This is on Durant.

This is a superstar player choosing to ride the coattails of a great team to chase a ring. A SUPERSTAR player. One of the greatest scorers of all time, a top three player in the league right now, two years removed of an MVP season in his prime choosing to join a team that's made two straight finals appearances, a year removed from a championship, with their nucleus all intact and in their prime. Doesn't want to compete and beat them, but would rather join them and have the easy road to a ring.

This is actually the definition of a bitch move.

Lebron teamed up with two OTHER top 10 players because he couldn't win the Finals on multiple 60+ win Cavs teams. Then he did it AGAIN by leaving the Heat the minute Wade/Bosh start declining.

And you and every other Cavs fan HATED him and booed the **** out of him every time he came to town.

So save the BS. Youre not fooling anyone.

I have no problem with any of it. Except joining the team he just couldn't get past. Starting something new is different

Durant wants to join the best team he can. Hes supposed to not do this just because the team beat him?

Who cares? Its a better situation for him as a player.

This is like if LeBron joined Pierce, Garnett and Allen in 2010. The team he couldn't get past, and the team that JUST beat him. With 3 superstars.

Instead he formed his own team and he beat them.

This is nothing like what LeBron did. There are very little similarities.

This is worse than LeBron. Miami was what it was bc of LeBron. Gsw was already stacked n won 73 games without KD. Plus Bron left the Cavs who were trash, KD was a game away from being in the finals with Okc.

Bitch move by a punk KD, who wants easy rings.

This would be like if Karl Malone joined the Bulls in 1997

SAS needs to be called out.

Saying it's not similar situation to Bron's is off base. If their decision was primarily to win title(s), then you play with the team that gives you the best chance to do that.

Bron teamed up with 2 prime superstars who would potentially he'd have to face in the East in Wade and Bosh. Then was welcoming in bringing in Ray Allen who was with the evil Celtics, yet another East nemesis. Talk about getting a guarantee to get to the finals.

Now KD has done same by shifting the balance of power out West to GS - out right. Staying in OKC he knew he'd have to go through GS year after year. Sure he "may" have won a title by staying pat. But choosing to go to GS all but guarantees he gets a invite to the dance every year. And the outlook of dominance and winning MULTIPLE titles proved to be too good to pass up.

Credit to whoever said this earlier in the thread, but Durant's move is like losing your virginity to a prostitute. Fun but meaningless.

WTF are you saying? I know your a Warriors homer but it's not the same. Durant is joining a 73-9 team that has a 2 time MVP superstar and 2 elite all-stars. They are a well established team that was 1 win away from wining another ring this year. He wants to leave his championship contending team that has another top 5 player, to a team that he almost beat and took to 7 games in the WCF?? Durant is being a sore loser and taking a shortcut to winning a ring.

Pretty much agree with all of your post. And Lebron got roasted, too. I fail to see the OP's point ...' Similarly, people criticized James till he won with his own team recently. Had he not won another, he'd always have that cloud hanging over his head. People act like Durant was in some go nowhere organization. He simply took the easiest road to win a title. A record setting regular season team at that.

Stupid A.F. To continue with these false equivalencies regarding Lebron 2010. Gotta be a warrior fan, a Lebron hater, or have brain damage to call this the same thing.

Paul pierce said it best. If you can't beat em join em. Durant is the poster boy for that saying now. Always and forever. It should replace his dumb Twitter bio that seems like something an 11 year old wrote

Lmao at people comparing this to Bron. Lebron did it with a 47 win team who was arguably a treadmill team few years after title. He didn't join a 73 win team that was a couple plays from B2B titles. This team was already looking like a potential dynasty WITHOUT Durant. Miami without Lebron was a mid seed playoff team.

Not to mention this team has an extra all star, more depth and Curry is probably better than even 2011 Wade.

Only if GS signs Robert Sacre, will they be considered the greatest starting 5 in the history of mankind.

Thing pissing me off most is the hypocritical **** in the media spinning it and supporting this. Adande had the balls to call this Durant taking the challenging path haha. Delusional ****.

There is no guarantee that Warriors win the title next year. Keep in mind that that they're losing Bogut and Barnes who are both key players to their winning last year. Do they have any money left to retain the bench guys? Going all in on just Durant without any help is not the greatest road to the title.

However, this isn't quite like that. I'd say one team (Warriors) is rated 99, another (Cavs) is rated 90 or so... and yea, everyone else who cares.

The Warriors will run through the West every year just like the LeBron Heat/Cavs have through the East, but they will be challenged by the Cavs. Clear favorites of course, but it'll be a great series.

They won't. They just added a top 3 player while ditching a top 150 player. They just got better by at least 5 points per 100 possesions.

They are gonna sweep the entire playoffs. You'll see how fun it will be.

They lost more than just Barnes. Bogut and Ezili have already been given the pink slip. I think Barbosa and Speights are gone too. Rim protection and depth are going to be real issues.
Nobody really thinks there will really be any issues at all and barring injury or even more than one injury the Warriors will go on to win multiple championships. The problem isn't Golden State, but the system. Golden State's highest lottery pick was at #7, so all credit is due them. They aren't Philadelphia trying to lose to get the next superstar. But the NBA has become that pickup game in the park when people are shooting for teams. You know - when the good player is shooting to play in the next game and he sees three other good players drive up, and doesn't try to shoot and says "I got next" so he can play with those guys and stay on the court. KD decided to wait for the next game, right or wrong.
So the two biggest problems the NBA are 1.) teams trying to lose to get the high draft picks and the NBA actually being complicit by hyping the ping pong balls, and 2.) trying to avoid superteams like we are now going to see with Golden State, who are now set-up to just keep swapping in superstars over the years. Who's next for easy rings - Towns or AD? There is a lot of acumen in drafting Curry, Thompson, and Green. There won't be much skill needed anymore - especially with the exploding salary cap. And if anything the race to the bottom will become more intense because how else can you get a superstar?
Rim protection? The Warriors front office needs SOMETHING to do for the next five years - go scout the next Rudy Gobert, Whiteside or something - you can send the whole staff.

I don't get segments of the media running down fans who are upset about KD's decision. At the end of the day, the NBA is entertainment and the fans are the customers. If I pay to go see a movie and the acting is awful, I can't say anything?

Since this 47 win argument keeps being brought up let's remember that was a Wade only team. Bosh was brought in the same FA as Lebron and before Lebron's decision. Now was that team of Wade and Bosh as good as the 73 win team of course not. Having said that it's not like Durant is making a nationally televised announcement or setting up a televised party talking about his future 8 rings.
