Build a Team 15.0 Discussion **Champion OKC Thunder- spree8**

Post#1 » by bishnykfan » Tue Jul 5, 2016 12:44 am

ANNOUNCEMENT

The rosters on the Team Pages should be completely up to date with all signings and trades. The draft is now over.

All GM's have until midnight EDT tomorrow night (Tuesday) to finalize their rosters by completing all trades. At midnight Tuesday the rosters will freeze. Your "pimp" page, if you choose to do one, must be completed by Wednesday midnight. This page should be just a few sentences stating your teams philosophy and rotation. A very BRIEF description on how and why you put your team together to show the judges your vision. Your team along with your descriptions will go out to the judges on Thursday with the hope that results will be ready to be released by Sunday night.
All-Time Draft

PG- Oscar Robertson/Bob Cousy
SG- Earl Monroe/James Harden/Dana Barros
SF- Billy Cunningham/Michael Finley/Chet Walker

In case you missed my post before the lock, it is below. I love the balance/versatility on my team especially my BIG 3 of Jackson, Bradley, and Favor. Let's go!

I like Rose, but the risk was just too much for him to stay healthy/be productive so I'm ecstatic to get Jackson! He has that true alpha dog mentality in him that makes him great. His ability to be the first scoring option on my team will be much needed. He should be able to thrive in pick/roll situations with Favors. I believe he had the most points in the pick/roll game last season. Also, he is very clutch. In a close scoring game, you know you can count on Jackson more times than not..he led the league in clutch scoring last season. Furthermore, he's durable and you can count on him to play majority of the season. His ability to score from the perimeter/inside as well as his playmaking skills will be vital.

Not to mention the other player I got in the trade in RHJ will definitely help balance out my team defensively for my second unit after having already two offensive minded players to carry the offensive load for the second unit in Teletovic/Williams so I was okay with losing Warren.

I definitely think my team is now in the playoffs if there was any question before and could possibly make some noise in the East

I will post them all together. I want to keep them semi-anonymous for the judges. Also, the judges aren't interested and don't have time to read novels from 20-30 GMs. All you need is your projected rotation and an overall team philosophy. Really shouldn't be more then a brief paragraph.

Also, no need to post about players salaries or players you perceive to be better "values". Each team had the same exact amount to spend so for every value, there is an overpay. All you need to write about is team philosophy.

About 24 hours or so before the trading deadline, I wonder if there will be any big moves being made. Obviously it's going to be hard with salaries matching/hard cap, but you never know...

To spark some discussion, which teams do you think has the best back-court? best front-court? best team in each division?

With the exception of your back-court, some other solid back-courts as well that I included in mine-Warriors-Curry/Matthews, Mavs-Paul/Green, Spurs-Holiday/Thompson, and of course Jackson-Bradley haha.

Agreed on all of the front-courts and had some more-Magic-Gobert/Love, Portland-Lopez/Green, and Kings Bogut/Green, I didn't include Mavs since only one year, but definitely for the future.

Agreed on all the division winners besides central for obvious reasons/northwest division where I had okc winning it. Both have good duos in Wall/Durant for OKC while POR has Lowry/Green, but I favored OKC's supporting cast a little more and liked their depth a lot more.

Top Backcourt: Warriors (Steph & Wes)

Top Frontcourt: Jazz (Iggy, Dirk, Drummond)

With Wiggins now playing the 3 instead of the 2, and Giannis now playing the 1 instead of the 3, it eliminates my #1 picks for frontcourt and backcourt. (Lillard/Wiggins & Giannis/Millsap/DJ)

Atlantic: Knicks
Central: Detroit
Southeast: Hawks
Northwest: Thunder  (Wolves #2)
Pacific: Clippers
Southwest: Mavs
