I hope it means the direction is to shoot for two top10 draft selections next year.

Rodriguez as a player is not that interesting. Kinda slow, thoughtful, smart, experienced pg. He's used to winning and most likely a good presence but he's not very suitable to the NBA game.

Why do you want to move the rookie steals leader, 2nd in total asts (5 behind Mudiay); 2nd in apg; 2nd in GP while beung 17th among rookies in MP?

Because he doesn't belong in the NBA and I don't want to see him play for the 76ers any longer.
"... rookie steals leader... Please... what does that mean? Michael Carter Williams once led all rookies in scoring, rebounding and assists and he isn't a good starter in the league. McConnell has counting stats because the 76ers were the only team willing to go 0-30 giving major minutes to a guy who should've been a D-league rookie.

MCW was a stat-sheet stuffer; he wasn't playing limited minutes per game like Mcconnell. Also, steals and assists, and FG% for that matter (at 47% TJ was above average) aren't dependent on the level of wins your team has, as in the better the team the less you'll get. I don't think of TJ as any more as a backup on a 2nd tier team, 3rd string on a contender, but why is his name constantly in the mouths of people as a prime target to be jettisoned I don't know. Guys who lead categories in the NBA, or come close to it, belong in the NBA, point-blank.

If you think he's nothing more than a 3rd stringer, why do you care if others think he's a D-leaguerD-leaguer?

Rodriguez is a spectacular spotup shooter. This is a perfect signing...No longterm deal and a player who with his outside shooting should help Simmons next year.

Poor mans Rubio? I haven't seen much of him at all.

Rubio is a point guard that can't shoot, and Sergio is a shooting guard that can. Plus Rubio is much more talented.

Still, I love the move. He is a good player, and for 1 year I'd try anyone.

I'm spanish, and right now I prefer Sergio than Rubio. Rubio always have higher ceiling, but his lack of shooting developement is taking away a lot of his habilites, thought he's still an elite playmaker and a great defender, still being a plus for his team every year despite shoot strugling.

Sergio is already similar to him as a playmaker, but he tends to to crazy sometimes while Rubio 's knownledge of the game is better, being calm and quick when is needed.
As a shooter, Sergio can create his own shoot with his amazing handles and skills and can be too a threat off the ball hitting the open three. Both are really fancy to watch and great teammates.
Despite all the good of Sergio, he's a bad defender in Europe, so you can imagine how could be in NBA...but if he was a decent defender he would probably signing with a Playoff team. Despite that, he's pretty good in steals.
When this account gets more "And1"s than posts written ...then my life will be complete. And maybe it will be the right time to hang it up. (Achieved on 2017-2018 season)...but still here.

Are you watching this SL game? TJ plays so smartly, totally in control, great passing and court vision. You could do far worse as a backup or 3rd string PG, no reason at all to want him off this team.

OK then. I'll go with that. He can be on the team as the 3rd string, so long as he doesn't get in the games against real NBA players. Boston has 2 PGs in this very summer league game, that are clearly better than McConnell and they left their best 3 PGs at home. TJ would be their 6th stringer and we got guys pumping up this YMCA dude.

Rozier has played well...otherwise I'm not sure who you're referencing. If they truly have 5 PGs at that level, one should be available when they get down to 15 roster spots.

I hate to see someone not get the due that they have clearly earned. It's a principle. It almost feels like I'm watching him being slandered here.

Seth Curry, who I am sure many would have like seen the Sixers pick up and knock TJ off, had a PER of 13.8 last year. TJ's was 14.5. PER has plenty of holes, and is no where near the end all and be all of judging talent, but that is interesting, for a guy on a ten win team, and you'll see that a lot, whether comparing him to Lavine, Clarkson and a number of others.

Can't wait of that Sergio to Cabarot connection reminiscent of that Sergio to Rudy oops from their blazers days.

I know this is a little older, but give you a taste of how he plays. Good vision and IQ, excellent at throwing lobs and working the PNR.

Hes not gonna be much of a defender outside of steals, but he's a smart player....should be fun to watch. Imagine Noel/Embiid/Grant/TLC/Simmons etc on the receiving end of all those passes he's throwing.

If I had to guess, I'd say that he will along with Bayless. It will be a smallish backcourt, but both of them are better basketball players than anyone else we have right now. End of the season on the other hand, who knows, maybe Stauskas, TLC or McConnell or somebody forth will take their place.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

^so we would continue to be the worst defensive backcourt in the league. I like the shooting but I'm also worried about our bigs getting into foul trouble because the guards can't stop anyone. So happy we drafted luwuwa at least he has some potential in that department

I don't think Sergio would tell every othe NBA team vying for his services over the past, what, 5 years(?) to screw off to just settle on last year's worst team and be a bench player. He's our starting SG next year and is only signing for one year because he wants to maximize his value for that second contract. At least that's how it appears to me. He'll inflate his stats playing on a guard deficient team.

I thought he was a pure PG...
