Seth Curry

@espn_macmahon

The Mavs are close to agreeing on a two-year, $6 million deal with guard Seth Curry, according to league...

Personally a fan of Seth Curry, think he can get better as well..and this continues our youth movement..

Shoots very good. 45% from behind 3 point line. Some bench offense if we sign him and adds more youth to the team.

Curry had a pretty solid season and plenty of upside. He should be a nice young addition to the Mavs bench for years to come if Cuban can quit turning over the roster every season.

He's not his brother obviously, but still has that shooting gene, and for only 6 mil a steal Imo. Think he will be a favorite off the bench.

JJB,Wes,Dirk,Barnes and Seth are all good shooters.

We should sign Terry to come off the bench.

I like it. A modest investment on a young guy who can still improve. I just hope the second year isn't a PO.

He balled out to end the year last season. April stats:

16.4 PPG, 5.3 APG
46/49/87 shooting

We have the warriors pick setter in Bogut.

He should shoot a high percent this season.

Nice addition here by Dallas. Curry has shown he has some of the touch that runs in the family and you guys get to see his potential at a bargain basement price in today's market.

Great, if he can defend anyone.
Super great, if he can make plays as well.

His major bottleneck to grow is his unathletic physical tools and hence poor defense.
And then, if he can't make plays as well, he can play exclusively as an undersized SG with short wingspan.

He can't change his wingspan. But I hope he can improve his athleticism and PG skills.

That's a great deal. Big fan of this move. I would honestly like to try move Devin Harris at this point.

Great move for the money.. I honestly thought he would get 10 million a year with the way contracts were signed this summer.. This kid showed he belongs in the league and hopefully he gets his opportunities here.

Great little signing, great value too. Let's hope Rick let's him play and doesn't make him the next Wayne Ellington.

I view him more like John Jenkins and Anthony Morrow. Carlisle hasn't usually played these shooter type guys. The interesting thing is: watching videos on him, he actually looks like he can handle the ball, play the pick and roll and make good passes --- looks more than just a shooter.

$6 million for 2 years, it's dirt cheap, so yeah... good signing. I just hope the "Curry's brother" references don't become nauseating during the season.

This passed me by, thought he had signed with a different team. Obviously lacking in D, but pretty potent offensively. A better john jenkins, basically. Good move.

This deal is outrageously cheap i mean hibbert got 1/$5. What the heck how did not one stab at this guy for like 5/$25 in the hopes one day he's a trade asset to acquire his brother or maybe stephone wants to play with him and you can trade seth

I don't know much about him outside a few things mentioned in this forum and wanted to know if he can play the PG position? From the sound of it and his stats, he seems like he has a high BBIQ and is a hard worker. It sounds like he is a taller, slower, and better shooting version of JJ. Is that a good comparison?

Not a good comparison. A slower Jet is a better comparison.
He's a 6-2 shooting guard being huge liability on defensive end.
Of course, he shoots better than Jet and is less athletic as an athlete.
