lol.. in the Jennings thread in the GB, tsherkin doing what he does, he's banned most of us from the GB.. Shameful this website lets him ruin it. If you disagree with him, you either get banned or your post get's turned into a blue "baiting".. **** pathetic.

I never debated with him but from what he posts he is never wrong. Definitely thinks he is the smartest guy in the room.

Two strikes with him and I was out. He has the loosest of definitions for certain offenses.

This was my response to him when I found out I was in read-only mode on the GB: "This used to be a great site. I'm not the problem with the GB or the forums or this site in general, God bless you guys and your policies. You'll figure it out someday."

I'm damn near 30 years old and someone's unilateral power trip can have such a great effect. It's a shame.

Ironically he often is the smartest guy in the conversation. His diction is terrific, he's very articulate, and he's got an uncommonly strong understanding of advanced stats.

Which makes the way he interacts with other posters all the more weird. It essentially goes like this: he posts something, someone disagrees with it, and he replies with something like "No actually your opinion is false, my opinion is fact and here is why" and so on, and then he goes out of his way to continually multi-quote and reply to people, refusing to budge an inch on anything he said previously. Also a complete textbook example of the biggest flaw with "analytics", stat heads overvalue them and outright ignore intangibles. Just like Sam Hinkie completely ignored team culture, player intangibles and relationships with agents and other front offices. The jennings thread isn't the first time this is happened either. Very knowledgeable basketball mind, but not very open minded poster in general.

He's also the guy that banned me for discussing Wilt's 100 point game in a thread titled "something about wilt's 100 point game" for being off-topic. I still have the link if anyone wants a good laugh.

I hope Jennings bounces back this season and has a good year. I figured he would get a two year/16m deal from some team, but his injury has clearly hurt his value thus far. I rarely ever say this, but the Knicks made out well with that deal. Low risk, potential high reward.

I'll say this, the GB is crazy. The mods have deal with a lot of garbage, and while I don't always agree with what they do, you need to understand it's a very different board than ours.

Be thankful for the mods on this board. And I don't mean me, I mean the proper mods. Speaking as a poster on here, we have a great board w/out much BS. Reading that durant thread got me super annoyed because people think they can get away with stupid personal attacks and then turn on the mod for deleting them. Almost everything else is fine on here. :nonono:

He'd probably be best having his own blog, where he's always the OP, and all comments are in response to him.

1) No hate towards Durant. He is 100% entitled to pursue the best career opportunity for himself, where he feels he'll be happiest and have the best chance for success. Good for him.

2) That said, this is terrible for the NBA. Terrible for parity. Terrible for small market teams. Terrible for everybody outside of GSW and a select handful of other locales. I don't know how it will effect the next CBA, but it will certainly at least be a point of discussion.

3) But at the end of the day this is not the first time this sort of thing has happened and it won't be the last. Not gonna act like this is the end of the NBA or some other dramatic nonsense. Life goes on. As always I'm more interested in watching Detroit field a competitive team that hopefully continues to improve year over year.

Don't love it, but meh, whatever.

If you are so inclined... click on the hammer icon inside any locked thread on the GB or anytime you see blue writing in a thread there and almost every action taken was by one specific mod. Very rare to see other mods names listed in those reports lol.

If I was a GB mod I would be moving half the locked threads to the forums they actually belong in instead of just locking them. So many interesting threads that die an untimely death as a result.

1 power I can use and have been tempted to many times...

Sticky a thread... so tempted to sticky some of those locked ones just for the lulz.

Why still talking about small markets? Thunder made some dumb things and injuries aside they were the Scrooge McDuck of the NBA. You got 2 Top-5 players, you don't try to evade the luxury tax.

I mean, they needed it to move Harden, of course, because Harden wanted to be the man, but they got s**t for him. The Perkins thing was a shame too.

They got luck with Adams, but don't talk like they did it an awesome job putting the right players for the fit and system for KD and RW, because that's not true.

And GSW have been irrelevant for years, people talking about big and small markets are crazy since no star wants to sign with the Lakers or Knicks.

GSW got Durant because them and Spurs have done their work 1000 times better than the other teams in the league.

They made huge mistakes but I still think he had a championship worthy supporting cast. And I think had KD told Horford he was re-singing, he'd be in OKC. WCF 3 games to close out and he couldn't do it. As a superstar you can't ask for much more than that opportunity, but Curry punked KD the same way LeBron punked Curry in the finals.

Look at the Durant's 3pt% and ask yourself why. They can't even get a shooter who can defend decent at least.

This website needs to have guidelines for their mods. Every mod has their own way of doing things and the band of brothers will never hold one of their own accountable so they all get away with whatever they want. Most mods are great, but there are a handful that brings it down for everyone. My biggest issue is no accountability though.
