To me anythings better than the trash that was brought in here last year with Marshall, not a huge signing but not bad either.

Kind of surprised at the dislike for this deal. Yeah he can't shoot the three, but otherwise he's a solid pro and this contract is dirt cheap in comparison to what others are getting. His mid-range game will help spread the floor, and he's a willing passer.

Totally agree. Even though it's certainly not an exciting move, it's not bad at all. I think expectations were really high going into free agency for some. The way BC has played it out compared to the many worse case scenarios, I'm very pleased. Now if he managed to flip a big man for one more starting-caliber piece I will be happy.

My thoughts exactly. Last year I would have hated signing them, but this year I am ready for these types of moves.

(Not Dion Waiters) is a solid player. I've always been a fan of (not Dion Waiters). Good Signing. Proud.

People need to realize this season still isn't about winning , ugh this annoying me......We still need a young stud in the 2017 draft. The point of signing the vets is to aid the development of the core. Nothing more. When will people realize this...

Bayless / Henderson/ Sergio are solid, non-needling moving additions that should help the development of some of the younger players on the roster, but not really add any/many additional wins to the roster. It's more about just looking semi competent this season, helping the development of others, and not committing to veterans too much long term. This is still a bottom 5 roster.

exactly. they are not here to shake up the world this season or next, but at least there are some decent, real ballplayers on the team and not a bunch of minimum salary scrubs who can barely cut it in the D-league.

I think it's a lukewarm type signing, but the dislike probably stems from him not being much of a 3 point shooter. Up until now, it seemed like the goal was to surround Simmons with shooters. Be that as it may, it's not as though Henderson is a horrendous shooter either. In fact, it's almost odd and I wonder if the Sixers' coaches think they can improve his shot because his mechanics are actually not that bad. Where he may really be a nice fit is that Simmons and Sergio will be able to take advantage of his size and athleticism attacking the rim.

He can still space the floor with his mid range shooting....and he should be another guy who will be fun in transition with his hops.

I'm kind of meh on this signing.

On one hand, I like that he's an experienced dude with great size. He won't embarrass us on the court, at either end. Decent finisher and solid in the mid-range. High character, culture guy. He'll be a good example for the young guys.

On the other hand, he doesn't hit threes at much volume. Probably won't provide great spacing. Teams will have to respect his jumper from a couple feet inside the arc, but they won't feel the need to run him off the three point line. Not crazy about him on the defensive end, either. He's a mere "sub-par to average" defender.

BC is keeping his word on not overpaying, but bringing in enough veterans with reasonable and short contracts that the team can keep adding high end talent from the draft and trades. I like to think of these guys as structural vets, they provide infrastructure to the gobs of young talent we have now and coming in this year and next, with the books kept relatively clean and flexible. It is the next logical step in the plan/process, and being done methodically with high character guys.

Not bad though I think he's just that defensive guard that we needed. Not even sure he starts....

Yeah, but he prevents us from signing Waiters most likely, and that can't be overlooked.

He is a viable professional basketball player on a short term deal. He should have a stabilizing effect on the team, which is good for our prospects.

Next year we will likely have two top ten picks where we will get much more talented players to take the place of Henderson and Bayless after their deals.

I continue to be happy with BC this summer.

Now he just has to make a good Noel/Okafor trade.

He's an NBA player, unlike the Jakkar's and Hollis Thompson's of the world. We need NBA players to at least be non-embarrassing lol

Henderson is a solid addition. Unlike Stauskas, he's a legit NBA level player. And it's not a bad deal. He also shot 35% from 3 last season and around 34% over the past 4 seasons, so he's not as bad a shooter as some make him out to be. His first 3 seasons he was terrible at about 20%, but he's stabilized to "passable."

Updated depth chart:

pg: Bayless, Rodriguez, McConnell
sg: Henderson (for now), TLC, Stauskas
sf: Simmons, Covington, Thompson
pf: Saric, Grant, Holmes
cc: Okafor, Noel, Embiid (until Embiid gets his NBA legs under him).

Not sure why people don't like this deal... It has very little impact on our capspace... He's a decent three point shooter. He might not be much better than Hollis, but what he does have is grit, toughness and playoff experience. He's a seasoned Vet, and has a little **** in him... Some who can be an enforcer for Embiid, Okafor and Simmons. He'll also help set the tone for professionalism. I think this is a great signing.
