He looks the most impressive for me, dude looks like a stone cold assassin on the floor.

The athleticism of this year's group of PGs is insane.

The two injured players might be the most promising, Harry Giles and Dennis Smith jr.

Some recent footage of Dennis Smith jr, including some 1v1 against Victor Oladipo. He's looking healthy and muscular. Pause at 2:38, head at the rim.
Also like the arc and backspin of the ball.

Where the mods at? Someone sticky this thread.

I agree, I think Giles has arguably the highest upside in this draft. Garnett comps are usually reserved for special talent.

Call me crazy, but I think Duke's Frank Jackson (6'3, intelligent, deadly outside shooter, great passer, good leader and team player) would be the perfect fit at PG next to Simmons. In an ideal world, drafting Jackson and Markell Fultz next year would be very ideal.

Guys like Dennis Smith Jr. and De'arron Fox are excellent players, but you don't need guys like that unless you plan on playing them like how the Cavs play Irving at the 2.

That Duke team next year. :o
Frank Jackson - Grayson Allen - Jayson Tatum - Harry Giles - Marques Bolden. The entire starting line-up could go in the top 20 draft in 2017, crazy.

I agree with you that a pure PG wouldn't be the best fit next to Simmons, but players like Kyrie Irving and Stephen Curry are mainly scorers. I think Markell Fultz (was listed as a SG not so long ago) and Dennis Smith have that scorers mentality as well. De'Aaron Fox and Frank Jackson might be the more obvious players next to Ben.

And that doesn't include Amile Jefferson, Luke Kennard, Javin DeLaurier, Chase Jeter and Matt Jones. That team is outrageous.

Because he got hurt, people forget how good Smith Jr. is. You could absolutely talk me into Dennis Smith Jr. and Markelle Fultz with our two firsts next year. That would be a fun team.

The Ferguson thing has been known for weeks. I was surprised to see so many major outlets posting today, we had it on 6/6 - http://www.deepishthoughts.com/terrance-ferguson-reportedly-skipping-college-player-overseas/

From article:

Prime Prep and its affiliate school, API, where Ferguson [and Mudiay] attended, have proven to be less-than-ideal for basketball recruits moving on to college. The coursework there is creating difficulty for players looking to get cleared at the NCAA level.

Wiki on Prime Prep is ugly. Sounds like a predatory situation.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prime_Prep_Academy

Prime Prep Academy was a grouping of charter schools in Texas cofounded in 2012 by Deion Sanders (the school's name is derived from his "Prime Time" moniker), who has also coached at the schools.[1][2] Initial enrollment was more than 1,100 students.[3] Prime Prep has campuses in Oak Cliff, Dallas and Fort Worth.[4] The school was established with the goal of giving every child a free laptop supported by the VSCHOOLZ program.[4] The school was closed January 30, 2015, due to financial insolvency.[5]

Prime Prep athletics had an initial setback in its first year when the program was unable to field an eligible football team based on the rules of the University Interscholastic League (UIL), which governs interscholastic activities of public schools (including charter schools) in Texas.[6] It had recruited significant portions of existing championship teams[7] and "league hopping" athletes.[8] After the issues were worked out, the school had problems finding opponents for their football team.[9] Ultimately Prime Prep would withdraw from the UIL and participate as an independent program.

The school was accused of racism and influence peddling.[10][11] In December 2013, Sanders pressured cofounder D.L. Wallace, a local minister, out of the leadership of the schools[12] over accusations of fraud[13][14] and assault.[15][16][17] Shortly afterwards Sanders was fired from his head coach position,[1][18] sparking an attempt by the school board to oust the superintendent who had fired Sanders.[19] The school then received further negative press for violations of the state's board meeting laws,[20] theft,[21] eviction,[22][23] and staff members failing to follow established policies.[14] The school was featured in local news coverage again in 2014 for failing to hold open meetings[24] and ranked as the lowest performing elementary school in North Texas as judged by Children at Risk.[25] In July 2014, it was announced that the Texas Education Agency was going to revoke the school's charter for inconsistencies with the National School Lunch Program and fiscal mismanagement to which the school responded that they were going to appeal the decision.[26][27]

In 2012, Prime Prep served as a backdrop for a reality TV series starring Sanders titled Deion's Family Playbook.[28][29]

Which is exactly how we WOULD play them since we have Simmons to run the team.

Based on the situation as it stands today I would say that the realistic dream scenario for our picks next year would be about numbers 3 and 6.

That would equate to Tatum/Jackson plus Smith/Ntilikina pairing.

That would be amazing.

Tyler Lydon is a player worth keeping an eye on. Upcoming sophomore that came off an impressive first year at Syracuse. Another guy with freaky positional shotblocking. His shooting stroke is excellent and he's an athlete that can finish.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about it. We really could've used him as an athletic 3 and D guy. But Coach Miller knew what he was getting into with this recruitment so it is what it is.

Other than Lauri, UA's 2016 recruiting class was basically all red-flag recruits who we only started recruiting once Miller realized that he wasn't going to land any of the big-names he prioritized(Josh Jackson, Fultz, Andrew Jones, Frank Jackson, etc.). Rawle and T-Ferg always had qualification concerns and Simmons has issues with coachability so UA fans in the know had figured there was a good chance at least one wouldn't end up in uniform.

Does anyone still believe in Melo Trimble? After watching some of his highlights, I think I'm ready to grant him a pardon for his down year. He still shows flashes of something special.

Fultz and Jonathon Isaac are the 2 players Ill be paying close attention to this college season. If Fultz is off the board, and we only have 1 pick, as of right now, Id take Isaac over anybody else just for the fact I think he may evolve into an elite scorer and be a great ying to Bens yang.

With 2 picks and Fultz gone Ntilikina and Dennis Smith are the other pg Id be targeting, with a lean to Ntilikina just for his size and defensive potential

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
