2016/2017 Depth Chart (work in progress)

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sat Jul 2, 2016 10:03 pm

What will the likely depth chart be for the Rockets?

We will update this as free agency continues.

PG - Beverley / Gordon
SG - Harden / McDaniels
SF - Ariza / Brewer / Dekker
PF - Anderson / Beasley / Harrell
C - Capela / Nene

RFA Decision: Motiejunas
Other decisions: Jason Terry, Josh Smith

Not counting the Rookies yet.

So where does Eric Gordon fit in on the depth chart?

I think dmo should be our starting center with capela getting big minutes.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

So is Gordon going to be the 6th man or are we going super small cause of Pringles? And is Ryan Anderson on the bench or starting next to d-mo?

I am nervous/confused about both signings...hopefully both stay healthy because they can definitely help on offense and we definitely need it

Really was hoping we walked away with a center and a pg and we walk away with a pf and sg

Believe it or not because of the new reality of these bloated contracts Brewer actually has value now. 7 million with a year remaining on his deal can easily be traded now. Ariza has pretty damn good value now with his 8 million as well. Hell even Bev is a bargin now at 6 million.

considering RIGHT NOW WE HAVE SOME REALLY GOOD CONTRACTS for a future Trade so things are not that bad anymore.

Bev
Harden
Ariza
Anderson
Dmo

Bench
Free agent
Gordon
Brewer
Harrel
Capella

I actually expect us to either trade for a Center/PF or sign someone like Bass or Nene.Dream scenario would be a trade for someone like Gortat but signing someone like Bass or Nene would be ok.

With Eruc's injury history him playing just a little over 20 minutes a game as a sixth man is best for him. His contract is equivalent to a little over 7 million last year so I don't know why people are acting like we maxed him out and have to start him

Updated the roster as I am seeing it. Now including Gordon & Nene.

Bev/Gordon (or Gordon/bev)
Harden/Gordon/kj
Ariza/dekker (hopefully brewer traded for something cause dekker is ready)
Anderson/d-mo/harrell
D-mo/nene/Capella/onuaku

This roster is a mess and I have no clue how to make it work...I'm probably overrating some of our youth, but I think Capela and harrel have earned their minutes for next season....but of course signing 3 injury ridden players means they will likely see minutes

Hoping a trade comes from all this but I don't know who we would target or what we could afford

G: Harden/Gordon/Brewer/McDaniels
G: Beverley/Goudelock
F: Ariza/Beasley/Dekker
F: Anderson/DMo/Harrell
C: Capela/Nene/Onuaku

I can see Morey trading Brewer/McDaniels away for a PG

Man I always forget about Beas

I want d-mo to start whether at pf or c Anderson or nene on the bench as first big and one of Capela or harrel will get little to no time until the inevitable injury bug

Trade is looming, just wish we had enough good pieces to get a good player back

both Anderson and DMo are PF
both can't play C full time
unless opponent is playing PF at C
i don't think Capela is ready to start
but we need to develop him so he better start getting consistent playing time

the lineup i put out pretty much have Harden/Capela running pick and roll in one elbow
Anderson spot up on the other elbow
Ariza and Beverley on each corner
typical MDA offense in PHX

Any trade the Rockets make will be something that no one is discussing. I'm expecting a surprise.
