Trade Market Picking Up?
For those of you who don't follow me on Twitter (@KeithSmithNBA), which is most of you by my paltry follower count, many execs are predicting the trade market will pick up after Wade signs. He's more or less the last domino to fall and there is still plenty of money out there.
No one is suggesting any blockbusters, more shuffling guys around to better fits.
Many of them do believe OKC will eventually trade Westbrook.

Re: Trade Market Picking Up?
Sixers have to cut or trade someone assuming Saric does come over.
Kendall Marshall, Landry, or Hollis Thompson - 1 of them should be gone without Saric and 2 with him.
Or they just dump a big, but the roster isn't it unbalanced on bodies (talent yes).
Marshall might or might get a take, but if Hollis is outgoing he should get a 2nd. Kinda think Landry is gone.

Re: Trade Market Picking Up?
The way the Kings roster is currently set up, it is clear that they need another PG. Right now Garrett Temple is slated to get a decent amount of minutes there. The team has a glut of wings. It is also suspected that Koufus could be on his way out with Papagianis around. Most Kings fans believe that the team's trade block is something like this, according to rumors
Rudy Gay, Ben McLemore, Kostas Koufus
The team would love to get a PG, especially with Collison likely getting suspended for a decent chunk of games.

Well, it was fun while it lasted.
Any word on who might be takers?

Yes, Sixers need to sell SG/SF Hollis Thompson for a 2nd rounder to open a roster spot. He is paid only $1M this year and can shoot 40% from 3 point range. Who wants to give a 2nd for him?
Also, PF Carl Landry loses his spot when Dario Saric arrives. Landry is paid $6.5M on an expiring contract this year. Who wants him for free?
In addition, anyone can also have PG Kendall Marshall. He has a $2M unguaranteed contract for this year, with 2 unguaranteed years at similar money after that. Who wants him for free?

Re: Trade Market Picking Up?
I definitely could see a scenario where Blake Griffin and/or Chris Paul gets traded, but more-so by the trade deadline, definitely not in the off-season.
If the Clippers are just getting outright blown away by the Warriors and Spurs in the standings, then I think they look at what happened to the Thunder (losing Durant and potentially Westbrook in two consecutive seasons) and have a discussion with J.J. Redick, Blake Griffin and Chris Paul (all 2017 expiring free agents) and if they aren't committed long-term to the Clippers, they get shopped around for the best possible players signed long-term, best possible young players on rookie contracts or best possible draft picks they could get in return to avoid losing all 3 with nothing in return overnight. I'm sure by the trade deadline, teams will have a better idea of where they stand and if it's worth investing a ton in a trade for one of those three knowing it may just be a few month rental. Some teams could go from B-Level team to championship contender adding one of those guys while others could go from non-playoff team to definitely making the playoffs by adding one of them. So even if it is a few month rental, either becoming a legit contender or sure-fire playoff team does have value even if it's just for one season.

Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

Pelicans just agreed with Langston Galloway. All indications appear that Tyreke Evans is on his way out, but his knee just makes the whole thing difficult.

I suspect Utah is probably done for the offseason, unless someone is under the curious impression that Tibor Pleiss is worth anything and wants to take him.

I proposed on the Utah board Hood, Lyles, Burks, and a first or two or Hood and Favors, that's probably the strongest bid OKC gets IMHO

It pains me but Hood and Favors is a really good offer to me. I may try to eek out a minor asset (the pick back?) but I love the players.

Yep that's probably a given when trading for a player of his caliber.

If I knew he's gone I'd do it.
That said, I don't know if he's for sure gone, so for now I'm holding on to hope. He's at a local camp today and seems to be pretty alright so far. I haven't heard from anyone concrete much, unless Smitty has more info.

That's true but I think OKC might make a DWill caliber trade so they are not left with their pants down, people say that he will go to LAL but that team is a hot mess, LAC maybe if they trade Paul to get younger but with the recent transactions Utah has made and the fact if we traded for him we could pay him the most I think he would stay in Utah, never been to OKC but I imagine it is on par with SLC in some senses.

I'd think so, but the problem is if that's the case why wouldn't he stay in OKC too? So why not keep him?

No offense but with Durant leaving it has weakened OKC a bit, they are still somewhat deep BUT they have also lost out on this years batch of really good free agents and Dipo is their major pickup, the front court is not as deep with the departure of Ibaka, is Kanter starting, Sabonis, or Ily? Do they want to make the gamble of him staying and signing free agents next year? At this point it's all conjecture.but you have to wonder if Presti decides not to risk it again.

Don't know, but honestly right now I don't know if they're a worse team than Utah (no offense there either), so either way, would he stay?

Russ-Exum-Hayward-Lyles-Gobert with a bench of Burks, Hill, Johnson, and Diaw is pretty nasty.

OKC has 20 mil to spend, so assuming they get a half decent PF, Russ/Dipo/Roberson/PF/Adams with a Payne/Morrow/Ersan/Sabonis/Kanter bench won't be bad either. He'd be good on Utah no doubt, but I'm not sold they're better than OKC just yet. Close though, depends on what OKC does the next few weeks. Maybe Crabbe too.
I can see Presti mail it in, or try to get a RFA or 2.
