History Repeats Itself

Post#1 » by GANGSTERDOG » Thu Jul 7, 2016 11:11 am

I posted this in GB but i really should of just posted it here... Let me know if you get it.

Everyone said it couldnt be done.

"Here in the south, This is football country son".

Why would you bring a basketball team to this city?

Well it happened...

They brought in a GM with previous Championship Pedigree. And a Dynasty was about to be Born.

With there Highest pick to Date they went with a Big that could score on anyone and anything. A revolutionary Talent. So agile for his size. A once in a Lifetime big. A basketball Unicorn.

He becomes a rookie sensation winning Rookie of the Year.

1year later...

The Next year in the draft Everyone said to get A PF. Everyone.. However the team REACHED for a Point Guard. The media and the fan base was Furious. Why stick with the PG when the obvious pick was there?

However the fans and media were wrong about the PG...sure the PF went on to win multiple Allstar selections but This PG was once in a lifetime.

"The Athletic ability in him was something we had never seen from his position before."

"They say the #1 thing a team messes up in the draft is picking the Big Guy too early, just because you think you are suppose to. Its not about that, its about Picking the RIGHT player and he was the RIGHT player."

And from that day forward the Young Guns took the League by Storm. Winning there First Playoff GAME against the Most Successful Franchise in League history.

But this wasnt enough. They werent content with winning a playoff game, they werent concerned about Winning a playoff series. They wanted a CHAMPIONSHIP. And if you want a CHAMPIONSHIP you need DEFENSE and you need Veterans....so they went out and got one. .....
A player that is. A hardnosed Defense first BIG who had just recently not too long ago won a Championship with his BIG 3.Is now the Anchor to One of the Best Young Tandems of all-time.

Now you have two Bonafide Stars : A Star BIG GUY who can score at will and another Star a Point Guard that could literally do it all and now you add a big Defensive Veteran.

"When your two stars are 25 years old, barely in there prime.... We are talking about years and years of championship runs. Possibly a decade"

And it came. In the first Week of June they knocked out the Powerhouse team of the conference and Successfully put themselves in position to win there first Title. They made it..... They made it to the Finals........

In the Finals they faced an opponent that was MORE experienced, having just been to the Finals last year, Not only THAT but they happen to have an All Time Great on there team....a Top 8 player of all time. And to top it all off That player played the same position As the ALPHA on the Young Squad.

Even with all this..... Somehow ....someway this Young Inexperienced Team was Heavily favored to win against the Vet Team.
But things didnt turn out that way at all. The Vet Team and the LEGEND made quick work of the young squad and they went home embarrassed.

But in reality it wasnt a big deal you see.... When your teams two best players are so young they are bound to win a Championship.....right?

As time moves on a little Tention builds between The AlphaStar and the BetaStar.....because we find out...the BETA has turned into an ALPHA as well. Now whos team is this? The Alph Big? Or the AlphaPG?

A Long Story Short... We see this Young Fascinating Tandem cut short. In the midst of a tough NBA Season The Team loses in the Conference Finals to the BEST TEAM of ALL TIME. And with that Final Blow of the whistle to that series The Teams ALPHA had had enough. He does the Unthinkable. He Packs his bags and leaves the tiny Little City that once was called Football Country, now Turned into a Basketball Heaven, and Leaves to California for the Bright Lights to win Multiple Championships.

Now where will this leave this New Franchise? Noone knows. All we hope for is that this Franchise ( whos one of the Only American Sports teams to not end in S) will once again Recover and come back to its Glory days.

I wonder what ever happened to that Prized AllStar All around Athletic freak of a Point guard? Maybe he gets Injured....maybe He leaves to California too.....We might never know.

I saw it in the GB and it would have been tricky but saying it was a trick question, and then mentioning the greatest team of all time really narrowed it down, also seeing your team in your sig didn't help.

Nicely done though.

Imagine how different Shaq's legacy would be if he had gone to Chicago...

Would Shaqs rings mean less if he had won them with an all ready staked Chicago team?

I say yes, very much so.

Congrats Durant, you took the easy way out. Wheres the sport in that?
let paid professionals do their job, don't you try and do it for them...

I really should start upgrading on my English . I thought this was almost a poem about the great Magic duo. Didn't realise it was a trick question. My bad.

It's a trick question because It's BOTH Teams not just the Magic. GSW could very well be the greatest team of all time. We just don't know yet. Westbrook could very well get injured carrying the Thunder next year. ... we don't know.

No lol I watched it a while back. I just thought it was freaky weird the Similarities and Noone is talking about it. Kinda like the Lincoln / Kennedy thing....but for Basketball lol. Especially cause the new Magic era was a seed planted from the Thunder Organization. It's all a conspiracy I tell ya!!!

Westbrook is Penny
Durant is Shaq
Kendrick / Horace Grant
The best teams" The Bulls and Warriors
The Legend was LeBron / Hakeem
Magic and Thunder both don't have a Plural which is very rare.
Both new expansion team's.
Kevin Love / Chris Webber

If Shaq and Penny had gotten as many years as Westbrook and Durant we'd have titles.

Return to Orlando Magic
