The Celtics are definitely going after Demarcus Cousins. Wyc Mentioned they were taking about a trade for a Diffculty player. I for one don't agree with that term, but it was clear that he was referring to Demarcus Cousins.

Ainge on team needs still as he sees them: Shooting, a stronger center, maybe a ballhandler.

Very interesting!

Crabbe and Ezeli incoming! 8-)

First move, Sign and Trade Jared Sullinger to Toronto for Terrence Ross. His contract is fairly cheap with the new cap. He's certainly a shooter who has shown some ability to create his own offense. Not consistent enough but with more experience and Brads coaching maybe we can turn him into a player.

Next, Find a way to get Okafor or Noel with a deal centered around Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart. Ross makes this deal have less of an impact on our backcourt.

Okafor or Noel would be able to help this team a lot. I like Noels fit for the Uptempo basketball we want to play. But, I don't love the big contract he's going to sign Next year. Okafors fit makes a little less sense. But, He is cost controlled for 3 years and he's an elite post scorer. Horfords versatility make either guy a solid fit.

Thomas/Rozier
BradleySmart/Ross
Crowder/Brown
Horford/Kelly/Jerebko
OkaforNoel/Amir/Mickey

That's my rotation moving into the year.

I hope you're right. DMC on a contender would take the league back to its standard team lineup. Imagine DMC bullying inside the paint against smallball teams. He could change the landscape back and expose smallball given he has a great supporting cast and coach.

I hope other GM's put as much stock into summer league play as this board does

Go get Saric, seems he might not come over or want a trade now that they have Simmons.

He already committed to join Philly next year. He's playing with the Croatian team like Zizic. So he wasn't avialable for summer league.

I'm sure there is one, I was on the Philly board (Aussie following Simmons) and they were talking about it. Seems his parents are controlling so want him to stay the extra year, and don't want him coming over if he is backing up. He liked the Celtics and personally would like him here, high IQ so should fit in with brad well.

If Saric stays another year he doesn't have to take the rookie scale either. It would be the best financial decision for him

It could be Cousins.... It probably is Cousins. But i think he could mean Okafor too here.

Last night on Sports Tonight...Felger was talking about his Wyc interview...

He said when Wyc made the "difficult" comment, the guys in the studio got a text from one of their studio sources , saying Wyc was indeed referring to Cousins.

Wish we knew how reliable their "source" is.

I remember a lot of mocks having us taking him with RJ Hunter pick. I was surprised he went undrafted. Does Philly have room for him? Is he free to sign with another team?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

This makes sense. Okafor would cost less, and is still younger. He'd also be surrounded by great veteran guys like Horford, Jae, Amir, Bradley, etc. They could help shape his career and show him how to be a pro. Boogie - well, WYSIWYG. Great stats, but terrible character thus far. Would Boogie shape up since Horford could probably kick his ass in a fight? Maybe......but I think it's more likely that he'd go pout in a corner after taking a few punches.

That and Saric threatening not to come over it makes alot of sense that Philly is even more desperate to move Okafor.

I know the question marks with Monroe are mainly at the defensive end, but he is a decent rebounder (8.8) and capable of having big offensive nights on occasion.

He certainly handed our asses to us at the offensive end in our February game at Milwaukee:

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
30 13-21 0-0 3-6 6 6 12 3 1 2 3 1 +11 29

He also was very good in our November game at Milwaukee:

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
33 7-11 0-0 3-5 2 12 14 4 1 1 2 2 +7 17

Monroe was less effective in the two games at Boston but still went 20/8 +4 in a February Celts win at the Garden.

Maybe these numbers had something to do with impressing Brad (if indeed he is impressed).
