Becoming a Heat Fan

Post#1 » by ryanpuge » Fri Jul 8, 2016 4:42 pm

First of all, I would like to apologize for my grammar....

I used to be a Wade fan first before a Miami Heat fan. To tell you the truth, if Wade left in 2010 - I will not become a Heat fan....
Too bad that I had to part ways with Wade, but I thanked him for bringing me to Miami Heat. I will still root for him except when he plays against us...

We all know that the last couple of days has been pretty sickening for all Miami Heat or Dwyane Wade fans. It is an unfortunate turn of event that left us all in shocked. We can blame the management or Wade's camp, but the blaming game will not help control the situation... IMHO, both sides were at fault for letting their egos take over their relationship...For us fans, reflecting might be able to help moving forward....

In the last 13 years, its been a heck of a roller coaster ride.... From Wade's first game winning playoff shot TO Wade's injury in Game 6 vs the Pistons in 2005 TO a great 2006 Championships TO a dysfunctional defending Champs season TO a 15 games win season TO a #1 pick lottery loss TO a 1st round exit team TO a 2010 FA jackpot TO a 2011 upset in the Finals TO a back to back with 27 winning streak record TO Lebron departure TO a Bosh medical condition TO a Whiteside phenomenon TO a Purple shirt guy playoff series and lastly TO a Wade's departure....As crazy it has been, Miami Heat is still here competing for all the fans.... and if given a chance to do it again, I will not even blink to be a part of this crazy roller coaster ride...All these success and failures are the reasons why I chose to stay as a Heat fan!!!!

On a brighter side, Miami Heat is still the fastest team among the expansion teams in the 80s that won a championship and to add more - We got 3 of them considering (IIRC) we were not handed by a #1 pick overall... I still believe that the Heat will not stay in the bottom for a long time.... We have a bright future ahead with our young players... The first time I saw Winslow play - I had the same gut feeling when I saw Wade in 2004 (that's considering the impression I had over LBJ and Melo)... Hopefully it is right again...

Lets all start a new era and hope that Wade will retire as a member of Miami Heat.... :D :D :D

Lets go HEAT!!!!

It's going to be so weird watching a Heat team without D-Wade. Even more so while he's still playing, but another team. I wish him well and full of health while with the Bulls or whatever team he'll be on in the future. He deserves it.

Hopefully he comes back before truly calling it quits. It would only be right to retire a Heat.

Meanwhile, hopefully the Heat bounce back. We need to draft another star. Start this year. But I'm looking forward to see how Winslow and Richardson progress and see if they can take the next step in becoming all star level players and being cornerstones for this franchise.

Been a heat fan since day one and have been getting banned here since 2003 (mostly for trolling the Knicks forums during the Isiah days). Oh, there goes another account.

I became a fan of the HEAT in 1990 when I moved to Miami from Manila. I've been a die hard fan since. I don't like any other sports... no Marlins, no Dolphins, no Panthers... Just HEAT for 26 years.

Became a Heat fan in 2004, after watching a rookie D-Wade hit that game winner against the Hornets in the Playoffs. Wasn't really into the NBA prior. -I was 8 in 2004 anyway-

After years of casual fandom, I started following the league extensively in 2008-2009, which happened to be D-Wade's peak.

Old man here. Magic Johnson made me fall in love with basketball. When Magic Lakers fell out of title contention I was hooked NBA, was born into TeamHateMJ, so I fell in love with Riley Knicks. When Riley came everything changed. We suckered so bad back then, you had watch heat on like public access channels or something...Miami is where I am from and no matter what happens.... always love the home teams....and they usually suck donkey balls....lol....

I used to watch Space Jam every day back in 97-98, so I developed a love for Seal, MJ, and Bugs Bunny. My pops gave me NBA Live 99 for the PS1 and I grew attached to Dennis Rodman's green haircut and basketball as a whole.

I was a casual viewer up until 2003 where Wade and the others hit the league. The rest is history.

I've been a fan since 96. Tim and Zo were my favorite combo beside Shaq and Penny. Watching Tim lay in a 3 from deep and how his legs and back would arch in unisen to this day leaves me in awe. I will admit, I lost my love of South Florida sports because we seemed cursed. The U wasn't relevant in the late 90s, Heat had to face the Knicks and Bulls and would never get over the hump, Panthers didn't win anything, Marlins win and they sell everyone off, and Dolphins always got knocked out of the playoffs. I gave up. I would just casually follow the NFL and NBA.

Then came the Wade and Shaq combo. They create lot of buzz. I got drawn back to sports, hard. Then the Heat lose to the Pistons in the conference finals. I thought "the same old ish." Then Miami came back strong and went to the finals. Heat go down 2-0. I lost faith again. Then I witnessed the greatest comeback of all time (screw you Bron and Cavs :D ). Wade made me fall in love with sports again. I love Wade, I will always love the Heat. 8-)

I was born and raised in Miami, and I also became a fan in 1990. Went to a game on my 13th birthday and had such a blast that I've been a Heat fanatic ever since. Rony Seikaly was my favorite player back then. Seems like a LONG time ago. lol
