He's not good, so no surprise there. Says something that Golden State didn't even want him back on the minimum. I doubt his opportunity with the Clippers is any better.

Simmons is a fine prospect, but (I know most of you haven't heard this before), it's unwise to read to much into SL play. :D

Rudy Gay has requested a trade from the Kings.

Before anyone puts this fourth, NO the Pistons should not explore a trade to acquire him.

Van Bower have done a great job getting good character guys in here that wanna work and are at least open to different opinions.

Rudy Gay is a dinosaur. Any player that isn't at least open to the idea of analytics is a moron

We have already have a smarter version of Rudy Gay, who isn't a black hole. His name is Tobias Harris.

Harris is at least Gay's equal as a player, and he's cheaper and younger. Awful.

They played their best ball when Al Jefferson was hurt and probably didn't bat an eyelash letting him walk, and I think MKG will be healthy this year, that will help them quite a bit.

I think Hoiberg might need to be fired for that team to reach it's fullest potential

I think they definitely improved

Got Valentine in the draft and went from Rose, Noah (barely played) to Rondo, Wade, Robin Lopez

Id say thats a huge improvement

You left out that other player they call Gasol, he was alright.

For real though Bulls could go either way, but don't see them bothering us with their lack of bigs. Big Bad Bobo gonna f@&k them up!!

Gasol put up good numbers for them but they didn't play particularly well with him on the court. Him gone and more minutes for Taj Gibson (a vastly superior defensive player) and Bobby Portis (young up and comer who languished on the bench last year) could actually benefit them.

Gasol was a horrid pnr defender but he was a good rim protector and great facilitator in the high post for them. I think his skillset will be missed at least a little. Taj can't replace all of what Gasol did.

Yeah I'm hearing you and I like Taj, he's quite capable of producing when given the minutes, but there is a reason they originally went and signed Pau and played him more than Taj instead of straight going with Taj.
Anyway just wanted to stop my man from leaving out significant pieces to suit his statement, thought Pau was a significant loss to leave out, you know?

I look forward to Taj and or Portis guarding Dre or Bobo whilst Lopez is busy with the other, haha! Make it happen SVG

Maybe I end up totally wrong but I think a lot of people are in for a rude awakening. I'm seeing people list them as high as the 4th seed but I don't think they will make the playoffs. Oladipo was their biggest loss and BIyombo/Ibaka were their biggest additions. If its gonna take 44-45 wins to get into the playoffs this year I don't see that giving them 9-10 more wins when the rest of the East has gotten better. And after this season I think there is a good chance Ibaka leaves. He'll get some very promising offers if he plays well.

I don't know, maybe people still think Dwight plays there. I was going to say something about them just outright hijacking tmorgan's thread but I'd rather not get a lame ban for back seat moderating.

Biyombo at center at ibaka at PF could cause some problems defensively. Can Gordon guard 3s? Can he hit his threes at SF? If he can do that they might be scary. Not sure what biyombo and ibaka were getting either

Just because someone might be scary is not a reason for some Orlando fans placing themselves in the top 4 in the East. Ibaka is a fine player but they are treating him like he's some kind of franchise player. He is NOT. Very few times concerning anything nba will I be definitive. I always hedge a little as you never know what can happen.

I will not hedge on this. Ibaka is a starter in this league. He is not a #1. Not a franchise guy. Certainly not a guy that can carry a crap team into the playoffs ala Anthony Davis/Lebron.

I don't like their point gaurds, and now that they don't have Oladipo, or Harris (he was big for them early last year)who in the HELL is the go to guy? Iso scorer even? I don't see it at all.

The East is as tough as its been in YEARS and your gonna need to win some games to get into the playoffs. With all Orlando has lost, even with what they have gained, do you see a 9 game improvement which is what it would take to match the Pistons record from last year to get the 8th seed?

The Magic may even have great defense for the first time in a very long time. Who the hell is the primary scorer on that team?

Seriously?

I guess Vucevic? And Fornier? They don't have a high usage guy tho, which you kinda need even if he is a little inefficient.
