So PG is an all time favorite of mine and I want you guys to rep the East next year. You guys build your team the right way and your players always seem to be fun, good people. I miss pre-injury Granger and honestly I think PG is the 2nd best SF in the league and a better fit than KD will be for my dubs.... but im not complaining ;)

But back to why I came to post, I know Turner is a beast and looks to be a building block for the future. Also it seems the Ellis-Gay trade is dead in the water. But would you guys be comfortable giving up Turner and Ellis in exchange for Gay and WCS? The contracts work and it seems like a fairly decent exchange of talent. From what I have gathered, Ellis is not enough alone and Sac has been asking for PG (absolutely ridiculous) or Turner (maybe straight up, but leaves a massive hole A.Jeff. cant fill.). Turner spanked the dubs last year and I see why you guys value him so highly, but a Teague,PG,Gay,Young,WCS > Teague,Ellis,PG,Young,Turner lineup IMO. Plus its the difference of a 20yo Turner v a 22yo WCS, so its not a huge difference in long term planning.

Pretty much im bored at work and after Wade left Miami SOMEONE needs to step up and pressure the cavs out east. Toronto is all show and never really a threat. New York is even more show and wouldve been cool 6 years ago. Everyone else regressed less y'all, and now Indy looks poised to make some moves.

BTW trade check below. Sorry if this was already proposed earlier.

I disagree for this year. And I REALLY disagree for years after. Turner has all star potential. The same can't be said for WCS. Rudy Gay and Ellis are comparable in value.

Also, the hangup on the Gay for Ellis deal from my understanding is us not feeling Ellis is as valuable as Gay. I see the argument that he is or is not. But you aren't going to convince a lot of people here to do a WCS swap for Turner.

I really don't think Turner can be traded without losing a ton of fans. I don't believe Bird is unhappy with Ellis. I can see us moving Stuckey to be able to take on a bigger contract but if it happens I bet the name will come as a surprise to everyone.

Not sure the Pacers will make a deal for Rudy Gay, but if they do, it won't be for Monta Ellis, per the Sacramento Bee (via RealGM wiretap)

Rudy Gay has requested a trade from the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings are attempting to find a suitable trade package for Gay.

Gay was traded by the Toronto Raptors to Sacramento in December of 2013.

The Kings, however, have no interest in Monta Ellis.

I agree Turner has the most talent/potential in this hypothetical trade.

I don't agree that Ellis is comparable to Gay though... Ellis is a great scorer but very limited otherwise. Gay can defend and score (albeit not at the level he used to). Plus everyone suspects Ellis and Stuckey are on the block now, which lowers their value further. I think if they were viewed as equivalent value the deal would've been made already.

Maybe it's my bias of watching how a switch defense can operate ideally, but i doubt anyone is going to argue that an ellis/stuckey-teague starting guard combo is a smart idea defensively. PG-Gay-Young would instantly become the 2nd best 2-3-4 line up in the league and WCS could patrol the paint for any slips. Plus he doesnt need the ball in his hands to be happy.

I think a semi-relevant comparison is the Cavs trading Wiggins for Love. I think most people saw Wiggins with a higher ceiling at the time of the trade, but Love provided the cavs with a better chance to win in the short term. With the KD decision I can understand holding younger assets and waiting it out, but assuming Indy is going for it all, this provides a better opportunity to win in the short term and a great starting 5 to combat the Cavs.

Darn just saw Grang33r's post as I submitted. Oh well if they have no interest in Ellis my point is moot haha.

It really is a huge difference. The 20 year old Turner doesn't have an injury history, and has shooting range that should extend past the 3 pt line. While WCS is also a very good defender, there are questions to worry about, and why he fell in the draft. He's had injuries. There's a fear something might be long-term. He doesn't have range like Turner. And Turner is already a superstar in Indy off the court with his WARM charity he's already started and kicked off in massive droves. He's clearly the most valuable piece in the deal. Ellis and Gay are pretty comparable. Neither is particularly desirable, and offense focused at different positions.

He can? Since when? That's new.

Well, that's the issue. Reports are heavy that Gay is on the trade block, and now he's demanded a trade. Neither Ellis nor Stuckey have been really pushed in trades anywhere but on this forum. In fact, most reports have Bird really hesitant to trade either of them. Some reports have had Sacramento approaching Indy wanting to do Gay for Ellis, but us preferring to keep Ellis and swap Stuckey. Other reports have had Sacramento with no interest in Ellis, whatsoever. No reports have had Indy pushing to deal Ellis or Stuckey, nor pushing to acquire Rudy.

I like Turner a lot better than WCS. No way I'd do Turner and Ellis for Gay and WCS, I'd rather keep what we have and not worry about Gay.

I don't think we will be trading for Rudy Gay. The Kings asking for PG is out of line.

At this point I offer Turner, Ellis, and picks for Cousins then move on.

The press conference was real disappointing. They don't seem to have much of a plan. Teague and Monta both running pick and roll. How is there enough for PG13 if that is happening.

I wasn't disappointed at all. I think you are saying they didn't have a plan to avoid Teague and Ellis playing together and basically they said we've got two very fast guards and the opponent is going to have to keep up. If Bird thinks they can play together, I'm not going to argue in July.

There will be times when PG gets the ball. I don't think we will need to worry about that. But if we can take some of the primary offensive weapon load off PG, I think it could really free him up to do all the other things he does so well: defend, shoot, move without the ball, rebound.
