Yeah if we ever trade cousins we need to get some established players out of it. We can't count on future draft picks.
You're getting a pretty well-respected head coach and opening a new stadium. But assuming you can't turn it around by the trade deadline, and it doesn't appear you'll get into the playoffs, Boogie is probably gonna to walk out when his contract ends, and leave the Kings with nothing to show for it. In which case, you'd be better off trading him and getting something in return. And Boston has the assets to make it happen NOW rather than later.
Let's pretend I'm Danny Ainge....does this sounds like an offer you'd accept for Cousins AND McLemore:
2017 Brooklyn 1st (lottery, likely Top 3) 2017 All 2nd round picks
2018 Brooklyn 1st (lottery, likely Top 3-5) 2019 Boston 1st
2019 Clippers 1st
2019 Memphis 1st
Olynyk
Johnson
Jerebko
Their choice of any combination of rookie-sophomore prospects, including: Hunter, Young, Jackson, Bentil, Nader
It depends. Hard pill to swallow if the Brooklyn picks miss out on top 3 both years. The 2019 1sts more than likely will be mid-late 1sts which isn't special. None of the players you offered get my attention.
I'd say this package has potential but the Kings take on all the risk. For that I'd pass.

I think anything with Boston starts with the picks and Bradley then builds from there with the you g guys. I don't think the young guys would be enough on their own.
Of course...giving up Bradley would be fine w/ me. A guard who excells againt the 1, who happens to be an NBA All-Defender and the best perimeter defender in the League. Great contract with 2 years left on it. And you can pick any combination of our prospect players (except Terry Rozier and Yabusele)

Who would you want from our roster? Picks are also part of the deal.

Gay 's value first of all is very high especially as his contract is really friendly right now and any team that gets him will be able to offer him the most money vi anew contract . These things are Huge factors in his value . Not to mention and with the NBA teams always looking to get more shooters .
History has shown many players asking / demanding trades and teams still getting a boat load if not at least great value for them .
We will see how this shakes out .
Predictions ? People can find out info as to what will happen & predicting value or whom can be had or what could come back is not all that hard .
If it was then NBA trades would not fall in lines with the rules of how much salary comes in & how much goes out etc.
I know for a 100% fact that talks are getting serious and of course teams will always initially low ball offers however Kings hold all the cards they could easily keep him if they wanted until the trade deadline and get value their as well though barring a major change Rudy will be gone & fast but we must sift through and take the best deal that suits us for now & our future .
But our hand is forced. Rudy has asked for a trade and he has his reasons for that
So we have to trade him or sacrifice team chemistry and morale. Having a guy come back into the locker room after he has said that he wants out is never a good thing which is why it almost never happens in the nba.
The Kings don't hold all the cards. If they did then he wouldn't have had to ask for a trade. He would have been traded already or happy staying with the team.
The fact that he asked for the trade is proof that Rudy holds some of the cards. He is the second most talented, experienced and coveted player on our team.
The teams offering deals hold some of the leverage as well because Rudy does have value. They can offer the least amount and negotiate til a deal is agreed to because of the pervious point of the Kings not wanting to bring Gay back into the locker room. It's not a negotiation if both sides don't have leverage. Pretty basic.
I also never said we won't get value for him. I said we probably won't get exactly what we want or what many expect.

Let's be real, the Nets are having an AWFUL offseason.
They got Lin, crabbe and possibly Tyler Johnson. They lost Thad young and Jack. Lin is hardly a team leader figure, and besides Lopez, who is supposed to step in to that role for them with Thad gone?
Every bad team from the top of the draft got better during this offseason, except for the Nets. I really don't see how they manage to have anything better than one of the five worst records in the league.

Sounds really fair...except we're already committed to developing Jaylen Brown. We need him on our bench and for depth at the forward position. Can you take someone else?

My point is that none of us will see the trade coming because the Kings hand has been force sort of speak. We will end up having to settle for something outside of the normal thinking.
If you are settling that means the options aren't there.

Great rebuttal. FOH
I'm not sure what Rudy's deal is as far as demanding a trade or not. Voison reported he had asked for a trade but Sean Cunningham followed it up saying he hadn't. Voison has a fairly anti-Kings rhetoric so idk. We'll see what happens but you saying you know 100% he did request a trade is as valid as anyone saying he 100% did not.

I just hope the Kings can somehow get the Suns to bite on a Bledsoe/Tucker for Gay/Ben/Casspi deal or something along those lines.

I wasn't planting my flag on that point. I didn't look to far into whether everyone thought the trade request was legitimate. I figured that a Bee writer wouldn't say something that big without some truth to it but I see your point. We'll have to see what happens here. Rudy should clear that up if it isn't true.

We'll see whether you still feel the same way by the deadline. I doubt Ainge is gonna want to give Jaylen up. But here's a reasonable counter-offer:
Avery Bradley
Brooklyn 2017 1st (Projected Top 3 Lottery)
Brooklyn 2018 1st (Projected Top 3-5 Lottery)
+
2017 ANY or ALL of our 2nd round picks
2019 Boston 1st
2019 Clippers 1st
2019 Memphis 1st
Olynyk
Johnson
Jerebko
ANY young prospect (excluding Rozier, Smart and Brown)
Kings get Draft Picks, Established Players, and Young Talent to go around to help out with the rebuild.

Settling means that options aren't on the table. Teams don't offer as much value when they are approached with a player on the block. Why would they offer the best value right away and leave no room for negotiations? That is the main think I was saying.
