(thanks Moonpie! Freakin awesome :D )

After an exciting summer league opening win against the New Orleans Pelicans featuring rookies Buddy Hield and Cheick Diallo, our young Lakers face off against Ben Simmons and the Sixers. It'll be a great match-up between the top two picks in this NBA Draft even though likely Nance will be the one guarding him.

We had a very impressive debut from both Ingram and Zubac as well as Russell and Nance. Zubac was a great surprise, 3 blocks, low fouls, didn't ever seem tired and was always active and keeping up with the team's pace. Solid performances from Brown and Auguste also were pleasant surprises.

I'm looking forward to seeing some of Nikola Jovanovic as I'm intrigued by him and Auguste as possibly the last big on this team. Jovanovic has that outside shot that I wonder if we'll see here in summer league.

Nice GT!

I'm excited to watch these guys again tomorrow.
I thought Nance and Zubac were an intimidating force down low. Great rim protection.
Would love to see that again from those two.
Between Mozgov and Nance for weak side help, our rim protection should be immensely improved.
Would also love to see A. Brown develop into our lock down perimeter defender. That is an area of weakness for our team. He has the speed and skills to be that guy.

Let's go Lakers

was so impressed by Zubac's touch, mobility, conditioning and his effort overall. The guy never disappeared from my screen when the ball was in transition, real happy with his performance alone and even more so with the rest of the squad. What an awesome start to a summer league, our team defense is way better too, very happy with that.

I can truly see Zubac begin taking over the starting role by season's end, a lot of what he's doing will likely translate to the regular season imo

No way that Holmes guy on the Sixers can stop Zublock, too weak and scrawny. Hopefully he feasts tomorrow. Grant's a good defender so Ingram has his work cut out for him. And i'm excited for the Simmons vs Nance matchup. Hell there's good matchups all around, should be a good game for summer league.

We're keeping the same lineup in back to back days?

Dunno man, seemed some teams in the Utah league completely reshuffled their lineups when they played b2b ..some guys didn't even played both games..

I think it's great for Ingram that Philly is playing Grant. Grant is a long athletic defender. It will be good for Ingram to go up against a guy like him. Looking forward to seeing Nance guard Simmons. I can't see Simmons putting up more than 2-4 points in the half court against Nance. Simmons really struggles in the half court against guys like Nance. Should be a really fun game (for SL standards).

I agree, I think it'll be a fun match indeed with both teams featuring more than a few players that are on their main roster. Some of these SL games have been awful to watch, fugly

Lol Ya they have, especially those in Orlando lol. As long as everyone plays tomorrow your game should at least be easy on the eyes to watch.

Not exactly sure How Zubacs contract situation works, But I'm all for brining him along for the next few years, even if it it ends up costing us a little. I know it's a small sample size but I really do think I've seen enough, combined with his age and attitude. Mosgov/Zubac should hold it down on the 5 if we're combining it with some small ball no traditional center type of thing.

Ingram looked great. I just panic every time he falls....I loved his defensive mindset. Russell suddenly physically looks superior for his position. He'll never jump out of the gym like Westbrook, but his size and strengh for his matchups are def an advantage and he has certainly worked on making that advantage an asset in his game.

Wasn't able to see last night's game so I can't wait for this one! Especially can't wait to see the legendary Zublocka for myself :o

Also going to be fun seeing Simmons.

Off topic but why do some Sixers fans think they can get Russell for Okafor and a pick?
