or do we not think plenty of coaches have let them know what parts of their game to work on.

or even read their tweets when people criticize parts of their game

It isn't the place of the media to tell players what to work on. You can allude to it by asking something like: "How is your jumper coming along?" or a very common question is "What have you been working on this offseason?"

You don't have to be quiet, but you have to ask questions in a professional and courteous way. At least that is what I have found the best luck with.

But for the most part, you have to leave the coaching to the coaches. If you start saying things like: "The fans want you to work on..." you're gonna lose respect and get cut off right away.

On the flip side, the more fan driven sites and even the official team sites will ask questions like: "What do you want the fans to know about your game?" or "What can you tell the fans you've been working on?". Questions like that are asked pretty often.

I hope that helps.

Really minor notes from follow ups:

I asked about Zimmerman and what they've seen:

"Very skilled. Needs to hit the gym and build his body. But we're excited for his development. With all the depth we have now up front, we can take it slow with him."

I asked about Marble and his place on the team:

"Dev has been great this week. He's done everything we asked him to do. We hope he'll be with us."

I asked about filling out the roster:

"Maybe another wing. Possibly a specialist, like a shooter. Not many minutes or roles left for us."

Really not much as everything big happened yesterday.

Also, thanks to everyone for following along and all your interest. I really appreciate all the kind words you've all said on here or in PMs. Thanks again!

It was mentioned by some scouting services that Zimmerman isn't able to lift weights due to a bone fracture that didn't heal properly when he was younger. It's also affected the way that he plays (almost exclusively with his left hand).

What does the front office and/or coaching staff think about this? Do they think this is something that can be fixed or is it something he is just gonna have to deal with the rest of his career?

Thank you for all of your hard work. I know our board appreciates it very much. It's hard to find good coverage of the Magic and its nice to see someone like yourself make an extra effort to give the fans some quality content.

Next time I see the front office guys, I'll try to remember to ask about that. Unless it is public knowledge, they probably won't answer since it is health related. Tough to get that info sometimes.

As far as coverage goes, I spent a ton of time with Phillip Rossman-Reich from Orlando Magic Daily and Zach Oliver from Orlando Pinstriped Post this week. They are both great guys and really committed to cranking out Magic content.

Phillip especially is putting stuff up every single day. That dude is a grinder and is killing himself to get stuff up. Zach and crew have a little more or a measure approach. But I think they are both doing big stuff. If you aren't following them, I'd get on that right away.

Paul Pierce still wants to play, Pierce on a 1 yr deal? He'll probably want to be with a contender though.

Awesome man. I appreciate it.

Have you heard anything about the Millsap situation in Atlanta? He's probably the best player on their roster, but doesn't appear to be the best fit with Dwight. Does his age and impending free agency make him a candidate for a trade?

They've maintained he's a big part of what they are building and that they have no intention of trading him. I think he is a pretty good fit with Howard. You need a big next to him that can stretch the floor a little and has some versatility.

Gotcha. He's a great player, but I guess I'm not sold on the offensive fit yet. Historically, Dwight does best with a true stretch 4 that doesn't need a ton of touches (Ryan Anderson, Rashard Lewis). Their defense is gonna be killer though so they might be able to make it work.

why wouldnt Millsap be a great fit with Dwight? We were begging for years to get him here with us when we had Dwight.

And here in Atlanta, FO news is adamant that they dont want to trade Millsap.

I don't doubt that at all. They aren't a horrible fit, I just think their offense could get clunkier than in years past.

It's no secret that Horford and Howard have completely different styles. Howard scores the vast majority of his points around the rim and doesn't make many plays for others outside of the high post. Most of his passes are out of a post up that is kicked out to a shooter. That's why he has paired well with volume 3 point shooters such as Rashard Lewis and Ryan Anderson. He had moderate success with Brandon Bass, but he was a low usage role player. How does this work with Millsap taking on a major offensive role? Also, how many touches does Millsap get near the rim next to Dwight?

Horford had a much more varied offensive skill set where he was a threat from the high post, low post and as a rim roller. His passing was a great boon to the Atlanta offense as well. Zach Lowe wrote a decent article a while back on the value of big men who could shoot and drive/pass. With Howard in the post, Millsap and company will not have benefit of some easy buckets off of a well timed Horford pass.
