Sure, but that would be "Russell getting in the way of Russell's minutes" not J-C. J-C would just be the replacement in that scenario.

If Russell isn't the guy, he isn't the guy. But let him decide that.

Thank you for the information.
Always a good move to absorb a contract for draft picks. Glad the lakers made the move.

A little bummed that the picks are not sooner, but always good to add assets.

Btw, amazing that sinking a player's 1 year contract into your cap space can get you a 2nd round pick but not Lou Williams and/or Nick Young.

Trades like calderons are a special case where one team is highly motivated to crate cap room. (Just like how taking on Lin got the lakers a 1sr round pick that turned into Larry nance.)

Trades like this are one of the big advantages of having cap room

I would take Monroe for Young and a second. At the very least, he has more value than what we give up and could be a trade piece later. We need assets

I would consider this trade. If Monroe would be a bad fit then just trade him before the trade deadline. Since Rudy Gay is asking for a trade then maybe we could trade Monroe + Calderon for Gay (Although I'm not sure if the salaries will match).

Russell will be our go to guy in crunch time, not worried about it. He's the killer on this team, knows he can score at will, and he will. We haven't even scratched the surface yet with his potential. Cold blooded! Calderon won't see end of game minutes unless Luke decides to play Russell at the two in those situations.

As much as I'd like to see Bass back, we need a defensive wing first. What do we have to offer to get Tony Allen? Or, who is potentially the next Tony Allen?

Because that egg head Jarrett Jack is a nutter and he sucks ass. Huertas atleast is a positive influence and a pass first player.

I was thinking the same thing.

I guess it's because Jack wouldn't pass the physical due to his broken ankles:

Pretty much. The offense looked it's best last year when Huertas was on the court, and he was one of the very few that promoted ball movement.

There must be gold in this thread somewhere because for the life of me I don't see how a Jose freaking Calderon acquisition thread has reached 11 pages. Lol

Monroe is a good asset. Just like a healthy Mozgov is. If they'd take that trade, no hesitation from me. I might try to turn his contract into something other than R Gay but that's a later issue.

I have a feeling Whiteside will get tired of Miami within a year or two without Wade and all the winning... There will be more bigs who will want out. Can't go wrong with serviceable bigs.
