"Jurgen Klopp signed a new "long-term" contract with Liverpool on Friday, just nine months after taking charge of the English Premier League club. Liverpool didn't disclose the length of the deal. British media reported it was a six-year contract, tying Klopp to Anfield through 2022."

These things are symbolic typically. But I think it's a sign that both sides are happy with the partnership so far. Klopp has his work cut out for him. This team didn't get close to the title.

It's good for players looking to come here, that the coach has the backing. I would love to qualify for the Champs league this season, and then continue growing from there. I think top-4 will be hard....but it's certainly worth shooting for.

And if Klopp is a Flopp Liverpool will have to pay a lot of money to fire him.

This season was not his. This next season is just the beginning. I don't see him getting fired for a couple years no matter how bad it gets. And Klopp is a good coach. I'm not gonna call him top 5, but he's a good coach. Worst case scenario, we end up eating the last 2 years of his contract or something.

But let's not even go there. Let's hope we got the guy who can get us back on top. Give it a couple years.

According to ESPNFC, Klopp has come out and confirmed that there is no future for Ballotelli at Anfield.

Personally I am fine with that. I hated the signing from the get-go. I just don't respect the guy. He can be quite good some days, but he's a "me me me" player. I just hope we're able to get something for him, as he does have talent. Apparently he's been on good behavior. Let's get while the gettin's good.

Got tickets to the Rosebowl game here at the end of July. Very excited to see the guys. It's a pointless friendly, I understand all that...but it will be a chance to see the squad...and get an idea of what we're gonna look like.

I'm jealous. I would love for them to come to Seattle. I saw Barcelona when they came a few years back. Hopefully, they make it out this way next summer. :D

Yeah, Santa Clara & St. Louis are the other U.S. friendlies.

Santa Clara California. They play AC Milan. I think thats by SF. Definitely not 'super close' to you, but maybe that's doable? Typically Liverpool goes to East Asia....so when I heard they were coming here, I jumped on it. I was thrilled to hear it was at the Rose Bowl. It's about a 10 minute drive for me. Will be good times.

Unfortunately, they haven't come to Seattle since I've been following the club. West Ham was here a week ago. Tottenham came last year. Usually Seattle will get at least one high profile club to come in every year.

I saw Barcelona & Chelsea 5 or 6 years ago.

Nice....I saw Chelsea play Milan a few years back at the Rose Bowl. Woulda been cool to see Barca. I have noticed Seattle gets teams, and I've heard they have a pretty good Reds following up there. When I heard they were coming to the US this year, I kind of assumed it would be Seattle.

I hope Liverpool start doing this more often. I know they are HUGE in East Asia...and so it's prob a smart thing on their part to go there....but hopefully they start coming here every 3rd year or something. I wanna see them continue to carve a piece of the 'American Pie'. Too many damn Chelsea fans sprouting up since $$-bags bought that team.

Interesting side-note: I was reading this article and apparently Lebron is a soccer fan, and is actually a minority owner of Liverpool. I had no idea!

He might come to the game and be apart of the presentation. Im not a giant Lebron guy...but I'm far from a hater. I just found that pretty interesting

Yeah. You see a lot of Arsenal around these parts. A lot of friends who are Arsenal supporters. Pretty typical. But, Liverpool does have a good following too.

I Saw that. The Rose Bowl is an awesome venue. I went to the 2001 Rose Bowl. Washington vs. Purdue.

Anfield is pretty cool. It's very different than US places. It's this stadium just plopped in the middle of homes. There's prob a 30-40 car parking lot on the side of it....and then it's just houses. Some cool pubs on corners down the street. The closest arena I've seen to it in the US would prob be Wriggly-Field. Usually stadiums are away from homes...near freeways with these MASSIVE parking lot's and all that. You could drive by Anfield, and if you happened to be looking the other direction for about 10 seconds...you could totally miss it.

Inside is great....and the singing is awesome. I had one of those amazing lucky moments in my life. I played sunday soccer with a guy who grew up in Liverpool, and had friends who work for the team. One of them is pretty high in the organization, and when he heard I was taking a trip to London, he offered to hook me up. No lie....I got center of the Kop...like 25 rows up. Just incredible. We played Sheffield United, and won 4-0 with Fowler scoring 2. Hyppia of all people scored, which was great. I can't remember the 4th goal now. Im gettin' old....far far too many drinks between then and now. =)

If you ever get a chance....it's just so cool to be apart of the singing. Those English know how to have fun at a sporting event.

One of my best buds is a huge Gunner fan. He's coming with me to to the Liverpool game.

Liverpool is kind of his 2nd team...on my behalf....and vice-versa for me. I really liked Arsenal's play a while back. Henry, and Sole Cambel and Vierra were quite a team. Real rock-solid "Center" of the team...front to back..and then nice pieces on each side. They were fun to watch (except for 2 games a year)
