I will just go out on the limb and say it: If Bosh is health we can finish as high as third -fifth in the East. Bosh, Dragic and Whiteside surrounded with shooters Babbitt and Ellinginton and tough defenders in TJ, J. Johnson, Richardson, Reed and Winslow would beat out New York, Chicago ( sorry Wade), Atlanta, Phi, Orlando, Wizards and the Bucks ( still too young). The Pistons and Boston would be tough.

No. The other teams almost all improved. The Bucks and Orlando are much better than before. They are better than us.

My opinion is that we are about like we were two years ago. We have a small chance to be the 8th seed (best case = 7th), but the tendency is for us to fall into the lottery - maybe hard if Bosh doesn't play for example.

hey nets fan here.

you guys got a good back up C under the radar pick up with willie reed. any time he got PT up here he played decently. he did something on instagram that basically burned bridges with the new regime (he **** ted on an interim coach) that we have here now but make no mistake, his PER and per 36 numbers are NOT a fluke.

We'll prob look decent early on like .500 levels but just one injury away from totally falling off, would be surprised if we would really sustain and make the playoffs

But there's no denying it would def be enjoyable seeing them play fast out there regardless of the record, work more on their games while we get a shot at some of these young studs in the draft

If Bosh doesn't play we are 8th or out all together but if he plays we are better than the Bucks and Orlando.

Case against the Busks: Monroe's Defense is sub par, Cater-Williams shooting is sub par, Khriss Middleton is still their best offensive weapon and he has not shown he is capable of carrying a team, and Giannis is going to be amazing but sill learning where he fits in. So for the Bucks Middleton, Giannis and Monroe is not better than Dragic, Bosh and Whiteside Due to defense, experiance and scoring.

Onto Orlando, it isn't even close but i will humor you. Their best players will be Ibaka and Vucevic but after those two it is a crap shoot. I love Vucevic but Ibaka has been declining and drifting too much out side while not playing good defense. The rest of the team is younger than our bench. Also Payton has a bright future but he can't shoot and still has some learning to do about being an NBA PG. Bosh, Dragic and Whiteside are superior in every way to which every players you want to compare them to in Orlando. Vucevic inside scoring the only advantage Orlando will have over Miami and Reed is actually a better man to man defender than Whiteside and Bosh can also defend him.

This is ridiculous! You can always tank while keeping your cap flexible. This allows you to absorb bad contracts from other teams in return for draft picks. Signing/matching stupid contracts is counter-productive. If anything, Boston and Philly have shown us how best to build up a stash of draft picks.

We know, we developed him and then the Nets stole him last year form our summer league team. It just suck that Riley did not sign him to a longer contract. That decision is going to bite him in the but especially if Reed gets extended playing time due to Bosh not returning to Whtieside injury!

Am I allowed to post links? Read on a website there are rumors of Miami trying to package Dragic, Winslow, Richardson, and a pick for Westbrook. Way too much. Don't know how credible this website is but I highly doubt it's a legit offer.

I saw that trade too. All I will say is to my knowledge we can't trade a 1st round pick for a while.

NO way in hell!
That's like 5 first rounders for Westbrick!
Dragic(2 given up for him), Winslow(top 5 pick if re-do the draft), JRich(first round talent) + a pick(most likely a first rounder, I assume)

I hate that trade.

One upside:
Absolute tanking to pair the next year's top 5 pick with Westbrook and signing a couple of top FAs next year.
(Westbrook + Top 5 pick + Whiteside + two really good talents)

I still don't like it.
I want to wait until the mid season to really evaluate how our young guns are developing and where the 2017 FA market is heading.
Some superstars might ask to be traded a la Dragic before the trading deadline and we could steal one without losing a lot.
