The general consensus seems to be a solid "hell no" There is a reason he has become a journeyman after Memphis. Rudy is one of those players that had all the athletic abilities to be a star but just settled for his natural given talent and got complacent. Such a shame.

K sooo we may agree and disagree at times but thats part of life. Not everybody is going to agree with you on everything every single time and vice versa. This site would be boring if everybody just agreed on everything 100% of the time.

There is one good thing about Rudy- once you get rid of him- you make playoffs. Raptors were 30 wins team with him holding Lowry and Derozan down, Memphis were middle pack team with him- top 5 when he left. You get better over night once you trade him away.

Sacramento still wouldn't make the playoffs if Gay was gone, They are one of the worst teams in the West, maybe the worst. I don't see them getting any better if he was gone, and if they didn't land a star via sign, trade or draft.

Rudy Gay would just destroy this teams chemistry. Stay as far away as possible.

I wouldn't want Gay starting or taking minutes away from Ibaka, AG, Mario or Green. Just a waste of a discussion to consider him.

By mid season when they're bottom feeders, they're significantly worse then last year. Sac will hold out till next off season though before unloading him. I could see Boston going hard after him unfortunately.

It's weird how people can think of Rudy Gay as a loser, but not Cousins. Then we have people calling him a journeyman when he's only on his third team. Biz has been in the league half as long, and he's already on his third team. Jeff Green and Meeks are on team 5, DJ is on team 8, yet Rudy Gay is a bridge too far.

If we want Rudy Gay then we should never have thrown away Tobias Harris. Harris > Gay. No thanks.

Right. If we didn't have Jeff I wouldn't be too opposed to it...at the same time I'm not sure what we could have offered the Kings. I'm not a Rudy Gay fan, but he's still one of the better 2nd tier SF's in the NBA. A lineup with him Evan, Serge, and Biz/Vooch, definitely gets you in the playoffs....but it's not happening.

Yeah, we have no way to make a fair deal for him right now unless the Kings just want Jeff Green and Meeks in a salary dump. The best thing about Rudy's game that no one mentions is that he is fairly underrated as a defensive wing. In Memphis he had stretches where he was downright nasty, but he kept shooting. Toronto never asked him to defend, and in SAC he spends way too much time guarding 4s so Casspi can play. If we got him with the hopes of him being a good fit for a Vogel defense, I would be for it.
