Did I miss something ??? Did the Wolves win a championship already ?

Their roster looks good on paper, but one SUMMER LEAGUE GAME by Dunn and they are already contenders ?

Rubio / Tyus Jones
Dunn / Lavine / Shabazz
Wiggins / Rush
Dieng / KG / Bjelica
Towns / Aldrich / Pekovic

Not bad.

Personally I haven't even seen Dunn play yet, but I swap that roster with ours 100% of the time. No question. We may be the better team next year but their future is way more bright.

Don't get me wrong, their team is better than ours. But I don't see them as contenders until many years (just like us).

Their team is build for offense while our team is more about defense.

Those picks are golden regardless. You telling me replacing vets Young, Jack, and Joe Johnson with Lin, crabbe, t. johnson and a 20th pick in the draft would increase the nets win total by 9? Because they would have to win over 30 games to not get a top 6 pick which is all golden.

So far, the nets are a net (-). Even if they sign harkless and sully, they won't win more than 30 games. They didn't win last year with lopez healthy all year and having a career year. He goes down this year, it's for sure top odds at first pick for us. They are that bad and a few Nets fans are blind to it. Some guy here and on the general board was saying celtics fans were sad, oh no, we are not. You are crazy if you don't see how historically bad they might be.

Riley doing the intelligent thing and gearing up for a big time TANK job this season. That's why the guy is arguably the best in the business. He'll land himself a Top 3-5 pick to draft a STUD or flip in a trade plus he's loading up on short salaries so he can test the free agent market again for another STUD in a year or two. He knows what he's doing. And if he lucks out and Whiteside or Dragic get hurt early in the year, make no mistake this guy will go all in on the TANK. He won't half ass it to draft a Marcus Bust........I know that much.

Dangerous to tank in Miami when you own a bunch of future firsts to teams, unprotected in 2019.

I agree with you if you took the 2 rosters in a vacuum, however, I wouldn't discount the fact that the Celtics are the Celtics and the Timberwolves are the Timberwolves. High likelihood of them somehow bungling this.

What do people think about the Nets two RFA misses? I'm thinking they might have gotten saved. $75 million for Alan Crabbe and $50 million for Tyler Johnson is friggin ridiculous. I understand they have no other real options but what are the odds that 3 years from now they're going to be sad about this?

With that said, as a Celtics fan it's hard not to be happy about it. Maybe those guys are good, maybe they aren't, but now, either way, they aren't on the Nets and they still have a lot of money and no one who will take it, ever. Who is their starting SG? Sean Kilpatrick? Chris LaVert? They now have no backup PG. They're probably getting close to the Dion Waiters/JR Smith/Lance Stephenson/Kevin Martin desperation zone. Throw Sullinger in there as well as a likely target.

If the TWolves can keep Lavine, KAT, Dunn and Wiggins together for 6 years perhaps, like OKC, they can be knocking at the door of 3-4 titles in a row only to see it all blow up.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Wolves have a ton of upside, should be interesting to see what they do. A lot still has to happen for them to reach OKC level.

Did it work for Philly? Did it work for LAL? Nope.

Yea it worked for Minny. What's your point? Teams can get lucky. Doesn't mean it would have for Boston. Would I trade rosters with philly or LA? Hell no. And they've led the tanking brigade for three years now.

So what do you mean by "WORKED?" Minny, Philly, LA.. none have been in the playoffs. Funny no Laker fans would trade their roster for the Celtics roster either. Ingram, D'Lo, Clarkson, Julius, Nance... under Brad Stevens in the East? C'mon man. But keep bleeding that green, I get it. I bleed purple and gold, so I get it.

Tim Duncan officially retired. What a legend. Best player of his generation. Just walked away from the game when he felt was the right time. Now compare that with the circus we witnessed last season with Bryant.

RIP to Tim Duncan, the greatest robot to have ever played in the NBA. Pretty sad that they are decommisioning him. Perhaps Danny could salvage the droid for spare parts, maybe infuse them into Kelly Olynyk and turn him into a cyborg.

Return to Boston Celtics
