According to the latest calculations after next season the new cap will plateau at $102 million. That's almost 10 million less than many executives predicted just a couple of months ago.

The market clearly went crazy this offseason and many teams overspent with the rising cap in mind. But with a significantly lower cap, some of these (if not many) contracts signed will look absolutely horrible. I like Conley, but I don't want to pay him almost a third of my cap in 3 years when he'll be 32. Or Mozgov who'll be getting nearly 20% of the entire cap in his 4th year.

I really like TJ, but I definitely have my doubts about paying him almost $20 million in the last 2 years of his contract.

There will undoubtedly be a lot of buyer's remorse next summer. Let's hope TJ will be able to avoid it.

Teams didn't make those moves solely because they expected the cap to rise...there will be amnesty provisions once again after the next cba meeting. Guaranteed. The teams that have spent a lot of money on multiple overpriced contracts will suffer. All tj did was become a stretch or amnesty candidate if he doesn't live up to his contract or the cap continues to decline. Low risk, high reward.

20 mil is way too much for a role player.

Q: Will Justise Winslow ever be able to shoot straight? -- Rick.

A: Yes, as long as he keeps hoisting up shots like he did during Thursday's 3-of-17 performance in Thursday's summer-league loss to the Pistons. What he needs, now that he will be counted on for more than hustle and defense, are even more games like this, when he learns what's a good shot, what's not, and then goes to school on the ensuing video. That is why a few more summer-league games wouldn't hurt, and that's why it would be nice to have a Heat coach on hand when Winslow works with the U.S. Select Team during Olympic preparations later this month in Las Vegas. To work out the kinks, you first have to work through them. So shoot, Justise. Shoot a lot. And learn. That's what the offseason is for. That's what it has to be for.

Totally agree with Ira.

Justise needs to simply shoot, and be patience. So should we. It takes time but it will improve.

Our hope for TJ should be that he turns into a very good patty mills/avery bradley combo 6th man, I think expectations are too much if you think he could replace Dragic. If he could be a very good 6th man then the contract won't be a killer. I wish Reed would've had a three year deal with us but he probably wants to get back on the market quick if he has a good year for us. The only things I don't really like at all with our recent moves is Ellington and the fact Mcroberts is still on the roster. James Johnson is apparently a good locker-room guy

Why do people think T.J. can't be a starting 2?

Rotation (for wins) :

Dragic (36 minutes) / TJ (10) / Weber (4)
Rich (30 minutes) / TJ (18)
Justise (36 minutes) / Derrick Williams (12)
Derrick Williams (16 minutes) / James Johnson (20)/ Rabbit (12)
Whiteside (34) / Reed (14)

For loses simply add big doses of Ellington and UD.

PF is a bunch of questions marks.

Criminally undersized. His skill set is that of a SF instead of a SG.

But with this contract, he will be the starter at sg.

I just think based off how well Jrich ended the season and his length that's more suitable for the starting 2.

I don't think the team would start him based off his contract, he's ideal for a 6th man role where he could go bananas off the bench

If we're talking playmaking, Weber is a better PG than Tyler even now. His shooting needs to improve.

Personally, I think a lineup of Dragic-TJ-Richardson-Winslow-Whiteside is very intriguing.
