I'll admit I am lower on Fournier than most, but I don't see him as much of a versatile offensive threat. Crabbe is only a shooter though and one that doesn't get his own shot all that well.

All three players were on my radar (and I'm assuming most of yours) at some point in this offseason. I'm not sure who the third PG is between Vasquez and Jack, but I'd prefer to have him on this roster.

Did Jack sign with Atlanta?

****, I was looking at some outdated depth chart. Nothing seems to be fully updated!
Jack was waived by the Nets, which is why he was salty on twitter about them spending big bucks on Jeremy Lin.
Nets tried to get Tyler Johnson from Miami, failed when Heat matched, quickly closed on Vasquez. Greivis seems to be second string.

Allen Crabbe's 75 Million dollar offer gets MATCHED. So yeah, KCP will cost a pretty penny. Not one but TWO teams were willing to pay Allen Crabbe that kind of money.

Or more. We don't know what other offers he got. That said, I think it's a huge overpay.

True enough. If there were multiple teams offering him big money though, I feel like there's a pretty short list of teams I'd put below the Nets in terms of desirability, and I doubt it was the Kings or Sixers given the other offseason moves they've made. And heck, at this point I'd probably rather go to Philly. At least they have picks coming in.

Tim Duncan retiring. Insane how productive he was, and how dominating the Spurs were for his entire career.

I was hoping Timmy would go again one last time, but I can't blame him for hanging em up. What an incredible player. All time great.

I have no problem saying he was the best PF ever. And those numbers were including when he was past his prime. Sooooo good to watch. So smooth, a leader by example, and incredible teammate. He was one of those players who you could look at and feel he was an athlete actually worth being a role model for kids.

I have no problem saying he was a top 5 center of all time. 8-)

Duncan has been my favorite non-Piston for as long as I can remember. Man, seeing those number's, it's hard to wrap your head around just how great he/they has been for so long. I'll go ahead and say it, greatest player of our generation.

Sad to see Duncan retire. He probably had another year in him, but I get why he would want to hang it up.

To me, Duncan is a modern day Kareem: a humble winner and consistent force for nearly two decades. Strangely, his greatness was oftentimes underappreciated.

Duncan won an NBA title in 26% of the seasons he played. Unbelievable.

Honestly, regardless of what team he played for Duncan deserves his own appreciation thread. But I'm lazy. *shrug*

He has been my favorite player for the last 2 decades and I'm sad to see him go, but I'm glad he's leaving on his terms and not because of injury or because he simply can't play anymore. The dude has epitomized what it means to be both a professional and a winner. Cheers Timmy! Enjoy retirement!

Kobe's farewell tour and Duncan quietly retiring couldn't be bigger contrasts to each other, and couldn't be more true to their personalities.

If Duncan were a laker or celtic, he would be an undeniable Top-5

There's an important distinction we have to make when it comes to players like Tim Duncan. Are we evaluating his talent, or his body of work?
(I consider him more of a C than a PF and I'm not easily convinced otherwise.) I don't know how we can say that Duncan was a bigger talent than Shaq or Wilt. He compares well to Kareem, but there's also Hakeem to consider (who is probably more of a traditional PF than C, but I digress). If there's an argument to be made about his status among four historically great Cs...then how can we say he's a top 5 player of all time, ignoring all other positions?
As far as PFs go, I had typed up a paragraph about hypotheticals with Karl Malone or Charles Barkley having a ring or two, and asking how that changes the calculus. What is the break even point when it comes to rings? What's the margin? How many more rings does a player have to have over another for clear, statistical superiority to lose its advantage? What if Larry Bird was a full-time PF? Did Duncan have a better career? Would we be saying yes, only because of longevity?
Before you tear that ^ down, try this one on for size: Kevin Garnett at his peak was a better player than Tim Duncan at his peak. Duncan has four more championships, and I'm sure he wouldn't trade his career for Garnett's...but I think Garnett was the better player, if push comes to shove.

I think Tim Duncan has had a top five ~*career*~ all time, but have him in the top 10 as a player. Agree? Disagree? Are they one and the same? Do you see the differentiation?

Duncan always played in sooo slow pace teams in his offensive prime. He's one of the better defenders ever, a guy who even in his baddest night is doing positive things on the court.

Look his two first rings, especially the second one... and look at his roster. Prime Duncan was a major force and KG isn't even near of him if we're talking about the Playoffs. Garnett only passed first round his last year in Minny in 8 years there. They wasn't a great roster but again, look at the rosters prime Duncan had.

And don't cheat with Robinson because that Robinson was a very good player but no longer the MVP or the star he was in his prime.

Duncan>Garnett forever IMO. KG may have bad more raw talent or ability but he never came close to impacting the game in as positive a way as Tim did.
