Goodbye to a true legend. Tim Duncan Memories

Post#1 » by myersia » Mon Jul 11, 2016 2:35 pm

Hello all,

I feel like we need a thread to remember the big fundamental. We have had several battles with him. But we all can agree that he is truly a legend. Feel free to share your favorite Duncan memory.

Got to see him against the Clippers in the playoffs a few years back. The Clippers came out and had like an 18-point lead early...but the Spurs battled back and took it.

I had always wanted to see Duncan play. Was glad I did. Great NBA legend. Sorry to hear he's done. With he and Kobe gone, I think that "post Jordan" era is officially done.

When I think of Duncan, I think of that 12-foot bank shot.

I also remember in an interview when he was asked of he was scared of playing against Shaq, and he was like "scared? why would I be scared?? It's not like he's gonna beat me up or something". I always thought that was pretty funny.

Tremendous consistency right from day 1 to his last day. Never did he spend a minute on the court where he looked a liability. He will be sorely missed.

Great player, great role model, perhaps the most efficient game of any big man, ever. Thanks for the memories, TD! Hat's off.

I loved Duncan's defense, a true warrior, hard to smile even when he blocks kobe twice in one play  ...thanks for the memories. Duncan is definitely top 15 all time. What a GOAT.

Sad how some lames on the general board put kobe down to prop Duncan up. Salute to one of the best to ever lace them up.

I've always felt that if you have to bash one player to elevate your guy you don't have much of an argument to start with...lol

With the exception of Magic, can't think of a player I ever respected more. Straight-up legend.

i like him.

but i feel he's default go to guy to support for Lakers/Kobe hater.

in the future IF Russell can be as good as Town, people will support Town over Russell blindly.

I have a lot of respect for Duncan.
He always battled so hard, specially against us.
That's one of the things I disliked about him because he seemed to be in our way so many times.
I felt bad seeing him struggle at the end, similar to Kobe minus all the injuries.

One thing I'd wish for the Spur fans is if he could have given them a game like Kobe gave us at the end.

But that just wasn't Timmy D's thing.

Congratulations on retirement!

Respected Timmy's game and character for sure. Hate the Spurs and loved beating them in the regular season and playoffs. That's all I got.
