Thanks all for compiling his vids. After watching him, I'm super stoked to see him play next year.

He is an iso/ball dominate player who can pass. Just like Marshon was.

Marshon was one dimensional as hell and weak on d despite having a solid wingspan. Levert looks a lot better from the film on both ends of the floor. And a lot stronger with a frame that if it fills out and that foot stays in one piece...hm.

I'm not going to say who Levert kind of reminds me of. He reminds of someone but he's an inch shorter and not as athletic. I'm almost embarrassed to say it with how upset i am over the Thad trade  :noway:

I don't see any of the herky jerky Marswag Bricks with LeVert.

LeVert is a very fluid athlete with a mean first step. He isn't jump out the gym athletic and his lateral quicks are about average for an NBA wing, but he just glides and changes direction very smoothly.

...yes. minus the extra size and god tier hops.

His ball handling is a bit more unorthodox and I think he needs to bulk up slowly to stay in one piece because he's not scared of contact but his skillset reminds me of his. He's got that mix of tools that could end up being a 20 5 and 5 type guard. if he can stay in one piece.

Come on now. This guy isn't McGrady. I remember watching some of his highlights after we drafted him and his movements immediately reminded me of...someone. I couldn't quite put the vision to a name though...pretty sure it wasn't tmac

I liked VC's comps to Redd (maybe not quite as smooth) and Cuttino Mobley. I don't see McGrady upside at all.

I'm not sure how you can draw Michael Redd or Mobley from his skillset. Those dudes were one dimensional to me.

either way, its all subjective but nothing to really get excited about.

Well, Redd was an underrated all around player and I think people often forget style of play in college doesn't automatically translate to the NBA even if a player becomes a successful one.

Even mildly successful guys like Courtney Lee, Kerry Kittles and Afflalolol for example, had much more expanded games in the college, but all their skills weren't strong enough at the highest level of basketball to directly translate on a consistent basis.

Redd was like a rich man's version of them in a sense.

His offense reminds me a lot like Penny Hardaway. I don't think he will be as good as him since the NBA system today is different. However, same body type, both good shooters, both have good vision, LeVert plays more systematic, Penny plays more of a pure point guard. I still say this team uses him as a 3 n D player.

The court vision is there you can see it, but Penny's ball handle was a lot more smoother and his footwork was on a god tier level. I haven't seen anything from Levert on tape that comes close. Hardaway was more athletic too, a real explosive leaper. lmao...invoking names like a younger T-Mac and Anfernee Hardaway are really big comparisons to give this kid so we probably should stop here  but I can see why Marks liked the mix of frame, wingspan and skillset. He'll need to get stronger though or he will not stay in one piece with the way he risks his body like that.

I like Levert's shooting a bit more than Hardaway's when he came out from memphis.

I love his height, and that he sees the court so well. Excited about his potential

I like the potential for sure. I have no doubt thorough research was given before this selection. I'm geek'd to see him get on the floor. He's going to be a solid addition to the young corps already.

I'm just excited that he's cleared to play, though the FO is bringing him along slowly. He looks like he has a quick, smooth release on his shots and is a decent passer. I see him getting solid minutes this year (~20m/g) given his length and 3pt shooting abilities.

I'm so holding out hope that this kid turns out to be a stud. I just wish we could see him in summer league.

He could've participated in SL but the FO wanted to be cautious and let him heal throughout the summer to be on the safe side. It also helps to own a D-League team that can help get him acclimated to the NBA rules and be his unofficial summer league experience.
