With that argument you basically take 14 teams out of the discussion for WCFs...

How does that make you better than the Lin, Gallo, and Wil fans who root for them over NY?

I was actually going to go, best player, best 2 players, best 3 players, etc. To get to the reality of how good we might be compared to other teams. Its easy to say I like Russell, Clarkson and Randle. But if you compare them to other trios, are they that good right now?
The 2 teams in the west who might best comparable to the Lakers, personnel wise, might be the Suns and Nuggets. Gallnari, Chandler and Faried. Bledsoe, Knight and Booker. Would you take our 3 over any other western conference teams 3 this season?

kind of a silly question/premise, of course they are not as good now as other trios, they're coming off rookie years or second years, none of the big named players were as good as they are now when they were rookies or second year players...
I'm not sure what you're asking so I'll say other than Warriors and Spurs big three I like where we are... If you're asking would I want to trade for Curry, Durant and Green in exchange for any of our three of course you make that trade...lol that's why it's a silly question
We're built to begin being in a competitive place in a couple years down the road without having to sign a big name.... I honestly believe we have some special players on our hands that will rival most teams in the league in the future. Even if we sign a big name tomorrow, he won't help until the kids mature and by then there's a good chance we won't need a big named player because we'll have developed our own
MelosSoreWrist wrote:Spanish_Laker wrote:Absolutely yes. Talent wise, we are already TOP 8 in the Western Conference. However, a lot of things should happen in order to make the playoffs: no injuries, great chemistry, our young core improves, the signings fit in, etc...

I never said i didnt like where the Lakers are at this juncture with the young kids, although I disliked the signings. I was only responding to the notion we are top 8 talent right now in the western conference. We are not.

then why are you asking me silly questions?
I just pointed out your argument was a non starter... you're the one asking all these hypothetical top two/three questions.. wasn't me...lol

You responded to me when I was making a point to Spanish Laker... like a week ago. You brought it up out of the blue. I thought you were taking up for Spanish Lakers argument. His point was Lakers have top 8 talent. My questions were an exercise to show we probably dont. I dont know why you would bring it back up if you didnt agree with Spanish Laker.

If you werent taking up for SLs argument why would you take over the conversation? You took my response to him out of context just to tell me its immaterial when its material to its original point.
